Raipur. A grand event of Jungle-Jatra 2024 will be held on March 12 in the presence of Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai at the stadium located at Kondagaon district headquarters. On this occasion, about one lakh forest dwellers associated with 216 primary forest produce committees and 2 thousand joint forest management committees of Bastar division will participate in the Jungle Jatra program. On this occasion, Union Agriculture Minister Munda and Chief Minister Sai will distribute assistance and materials to the beneficiaries of various schemes of the Forest Department.

Along with Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Kanker MP Mohan Mandavi, Bastar MP Deepak Baij, MLA Kiran Singh Dev, Lata Usendi, Vikram Usendi, Neelkanth Tekam, Asharam Netam, Vinayak Goyal, Chaitram Atami were present as special guests in the ‘Jungle Jatra 2024’ program. , Kawasi Lakhma, Vikram Mandavi, Lakheshwar Baghel, Savitri Mandavi and other public representatives will be included.

In the Jangal-Jatra programme, along with distribution of Khasra to 9 villages of Kondagaon district, dividend amount and insurance amount will also be distributed to the forest committees. There are 52 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras and 317 Haat Bazar Kendras operating in Bastar division, to which 1180 collection villages are connected. Under the Forest Rights Act, about 1562 community forest resource rights have been distributed and the right to consume 8 lakh 23 thousand 910 hectares of forest area has been given. An amount of approximately Rs 22 crore 88 lakh will be given as dividend to a total of 130 forest management committees of Bastar division. A total of 49200 families of Baiga, Vihor, Kamar and Pahari Korwa, especially vulnerable tribal groups, reside in the state. To accelerate their welfare and development under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, the Union has approved 2 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras in Narayanpur along with 9 new centres.
