Raipur: Target to benefit 6 lakh 37 thousand artisans under Prime Minister Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana.

Now Industries Department will implement instead of village industries

The objective of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana is to identify the artisans and craftsmen as Vishwakarma and make them eligible to get all kinds of benefits. Along with this, the aim is to develop their skills by connecting them with the available upgradation programs and to provide them with modern equipment to increase their competency, capacity and productivity. Apart from this, providing collateral free loans and connecting various markets for their progress are also included. Officials of the Industries Department said that a year ago it was implemented by the Village Industries Department, now it is being implemented by the Industries Department. A target has been set to provide benefits of the scheme to 6 lakh 37 thousand 230 artisans of 11 thousand 586 gram panchayats in the state, against which till now 3 lakh 23 thousand 371 artisans have been registered. And 1403 beneficiaries have been provided certificates after training. Training of 314 beneficiaries is going on under this scheme.

Commerce, Industry and Labor Minister Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan said that the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana will now be implemented by the Industries Department instead of the Village Industries Department. With this, a target has been set to benefit more than 6 lakh artisans in the state. Many skilled youth will benefit from this scheme. This is an important scheme of the government. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of the state Shri Vishnu Dev Sai also want that the youth can become self-reliant on their own feet through skill development.

    It is noteworthy that Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana (PM Vikas) was announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi a year ago on 11 March 2023. 18 types of artisans from different professions have been identified to be included in this scheme. These include wood based 01. Carpenter, 02. Boat maker, iron/metal based 03. Weaponsmith, 04. Blacksmith, 05. Iron tool maker, 06. Locksmith, Gold/silver based 07. Goldsmith. Similarly, clay based 08. Potter, stone based 09. Sculptor/carver, leather based 10. Cobbler, builder based 11. Mason, among others 12. Makers of baskets, brooms, mats, mats, 13. Makers of dolls and other toys. , 14. Barber, 15. Malakar, 16. Washerman, 17. Tailor, 18. Fishing net manufacturer.

    The benefits given under the scheme are as follows. Loan assistance Collateral Free Enterprise Development Loan – Up to Rs 1 lakh (1st installment for 18 months repayment) Up to Rs 2 lakh (2nd installment for 30 months repayment) Concessional interest rate 05 per cent is included. Skill Upgradation 05 days basic training, 15 days or more advanced training Training Honorarium – Rs 500 per day including toolkit incentive, e-voucher, Rs 15,000 through e-RUPI.
