Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Chhattisgarh’s first microbiology food testing laboratory at Kalibari, Raipur through video conferencing on Sunday evening. Prime Minister Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of many development works in the field of health.

During this, PM Modi said that by working at such a fast pace, the resolution of developed India will be fulfilled. Now bacteria in food items can be tested in Raipur. Before this, there was facility for testing chemicals.

Know what facilities will be available

Since December 2006, the Food Testing Laboratory is being operated in the new building located at Kalibari Raipur, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted the Microbiology Food Testing Laboratory.

This laboratory has been prepared with additional financial assistance of Rs 4 crore 33 lakh from Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, New Delhi. This is the first food microbiology laboratory of the state.

Food items and drinking water are contaminated by harmful micro-organisms, due to which people are likely to suffer from various diseases. Food borne diseases like vomiting, diarrhea, typhoid, fever, cholera, skin related diseases etc. occur.

Earlier, chemical testing, testing of heavy metals, pesticides, vitamins were done in the laboratory, but micro biological parameters were not tested. Now with the introduction of micro biology laboratory equipped with modern machines, bacteria, fungus, yeast contaminating the food items have been detected. , mold etc. can be checked.
