Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai follows the tradition of Atithi Devo Bhava
Raipur, 25 February 2024
There has been a great tradition of Atithi Devo Bhava in India. The meaning of guest is the one who comes to meet you without any date or time and he is considered like God. A beautiful incident was seen today at Pahuna, the temporary residence of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai. In fact, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai returned from his stay in Delhi this morning itself and after a short rest of 40 minutes, he had to leave for his visit to Telangana state. Meanwhile, he got information that some villagers from Duldula area of Jashpur district were standing outside the residence gate to meet him. The Chief Minister himself is from Jashpur district and knows that this area is far from the capital and everyone has reached here after a long journey. This feeling of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ must have come in the mind of the Chief Minister and he immediately called everyone inside and agreed to meet. Since all the programs of the Chief Minister are pre-determined and despite today’s very busy schedules, the Chief Minister’s eagerness to meet his loved ones made this occasion more special. All the villagers who came from Duldula of Jashpur district wished the Chief Minister on his birthday and expressed their gratitude. During this, former Chairman of Youth Commission Shri Kamalchandra Bhanjdev was also present.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai thanked all the villagers who came to wish him on his birthday and said that when you people come, it feels like someone from the family has come. I will always be indebted to you people for their immense love. Your love increases my energy and I become determined towards my responsibilities. It is my endeavor to continue working for the betterment of the people of the state. He told the villagers that he would meet all of you soon.
All the villagers who came from Duldula, while sharing their experiences, said that the behavior of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has always been simple, easy and cordial. We have always seen them as partners in our happiness and sorrow. We have been putting our views before them. We never hesitated in meeting Shri Sai and today even after becoming the Chief Minister, he met us with the same cordiality, inquired about our well-being, inquired about the area and said that he will meet all of you soon. The villagers told that we were standing at the Pahuna gate and wanted to meet him, but when we came to know that he was going out of the state as per his pre-determined schedule, we felt that perhaps we would not be able to meet him. Meanwhile, information was received that they have called us immediately. We met our chief and everyone was very happy to see the same cordiality and same behavior as always. He told that we had come to wish our chief on his birthday.
On this occasion, Mr. Ganesh Mishra, Mr. Lakhan Ram, Mr. Nilambar Ram, Mr. Jagdish Singh, Mr. Ranjit Singh, Mr. Devnarayan Singh, Mr. Pantu Ram, Mr. Prem Kumar Yadav, Mr. Bhagirathi Singh, Mr. Shiv Kumar Ram came from Duldula of Jashpur district. Including other villagers were present.
