Former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel will be on a two-day visit to Shimla on 26 February. Congress Rajya Sabha candidate from Himachal Pradesh Abhishek Manu will unite the MLAs for Singhvi, so that there is no cross voting on the day of voting.

There is a possibility that on February 26, Baghel will hold a meeting with the MLAs there. Will discuss with him about Rajya Sabha. Abhishek Manu Singhvi will replace BJP national president JP Nadda in the Rajya Sabha from Himachal. Nadda’s tenure is ending in April 2024.

Baghel has been in charge of Himachal

During the assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh, Bhupesh Baghel was made in-charge there. He had visited Himachal continuously. This is the reason why Baghel is well acquainted with the MLAs and leaders there. In such a situation, the responsibility has been given to Baghel if BJP tries to get cross-voting done by the MLAs or does not try to do horse-trading of MLAs.

Despite not having numerical strength, BJP fielded a candidate

BJP is preparing to play political game in the elections to be held on a Rajya Sabha seat from Himachal. Despite not having sufficient strength in the assembly, the party has created panic in the ruling Congress by fielding its candidate from here.

BJP has made Harsh Mahajan, who left Congress, its candidate. Mahajan filed his nomination on Thursday, the last day of filing nomination, in the presence of former CM Jairam Thakur and state president Rajeev Bindal.

When Abhishek Manu reached Shimla after the announcement of Singhvi’s name, a dinner was organized for Congress MLAs in Shimla late at night. All three independent MLAs were also present in it. In this, Singhvi also met all the MLAs. Rajeev Shukla and Bhupesh Baghel were also specially present in the legislature party.

Congress worried over Harsh Mahajan’s nomination

Harsh Mahajan’s nomination has increased the concern of Congress. Mahajan is considered a famous strategist in politics. He has joined BJP only in September 2022. When he left Congress, he was the working president of the state Congress. He has never lost any election till date.

Congress has 40 MLAs while BJP has 25 MLAs.

Singhvi is not originally from Himachal. Giving this same argument, BJP has made Harsh Mahajan its candidate. BJP has 25 MLAs in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly which has 68 MLAs. On the other hand, Congress has 40 MLAs. Three MLAs are independent. BJP will need the votes of at least 10 more MLAs to make its candidate win.

BJP President JP Nadda will now go to Rajya Sabha from Gujarat

Bharatiya Janata Party is going to send BJP national president and Rajya Sabha MP from Himachal JP Nadda to Rajya Sabha again from Gujarat. Jagat Prakash Nadda’s tenure is ending on 2 April 2024. Singhvi is going to replace him from Himachal.

After JP Nadda going to Rajya Sabha, now the speculations about him contesting Lok Sabha elections have also come to an end. Chief Minister Sukhu has congratulated JP Nadda on going to Rajya Sabha again.
