The leaders of both the parties stood erect in front of each other and started shouting in a warning tone while pointing fingers. The commotion continued like this for about 15 minutes. After consultation with senior leaders of both the parties, the councilors returned to their respective chairs.

Since the discussion on the Municipal Corporation’s budget remained incomplete on Wednesday, the meeting was called for the second day on Thursday. During this, BJP councilor party spokesperson Mrityunjay Dubey was accusing the mayor that he only makes announcements in the budget. On this, someone from the Congress party said that victory will not be achieved every time in the name of Ram. After this the BJP councilors became angry.

Councilor Mrityunjay Dubey got up from his place and reached in front of the dais. Along with him, other BJP councilors Sarita Akash Dubey, Deepak Jaiswal, Amar Bansal, Rohit Sahu, Sarita Verma, Bholaram Sahu also reached there and started protesting. On the other hand, councilors Amitesh Bhardwaj, Kamran Ansari, Ritesh Tripathi and other Congress leaders also reached the DIAS.

During this time, the verbal altercation between Amitesh and Deepak Jaiswal turned into a scuffle. Seeing the urgency of the situation, Leader of Opposition Meenal Choubey reached there and intervened.

Budget passed unanimously

Here the budget of Raipur Municipal Corporation has been passed. Mayor Ejaz Dhebar said that I am happy that women councilors have played a big role in the budget. The budget of Raipur city was presented and everyone expressed their views in it.

On the other hand, Leader of Opposition Meenal Choubey said regarding the budget that for the last 4 years the Mayor had presented a deficit budget, but this time he has presented a profit budget. The truth behind this is that it is not easy to present a profitable budget in Raipur Municipal Corporation. Municipal Corporation is going to bring a bond of Rs 200 crore.

The guidelines of the Reserve Bank are that bonds cannot be issued without showing a profitable budget, hence a profitable budget has been presented as a conspiracy.

Uproar over proposal of 25 percent amount

It was mentioned in the Mayor’s address that 25 percent of the total revenue coming from all the Municipal Corporations in the last 10 days will be available for the development of that zone. On this, Wiring Council member Gyanesh Sharma put forward a verbal proposal in the meeting, the Congress councilor group agreed to this proposal, but the opposition created ruckus.

The councilors said that 25% of the amount should be distributed among all the 7 zones, but some councilors said that some wards are developed, the amount should not be given there, the amount should be given in those wards only where it is needed.
