Raipur Mayor Ejaz Dhebar presented the budget of Rs 1901 crore 31 lakh 93 thousand in the Municipal Corporation House on Wednesday. This budget is of benefit of Rs 57 lakh 71 thousand. The budget especially focuses on youth and women. It has been announced in the budget to open ‘World Skill Centre’ at a cost of Rs 10.15 crore. In this, skill training will be provided to the youth.
Apart from this, announcements are being made for the development of the city, arrangements to reduce pollution and development of art and culture. Before this, Mayor Ejaz Dhebar reached Kali Mandir located at Akashvani with the budget briefcase and bowed his head and took blessings. The Mayor is presenting the final budget of this term in the General Assembly.

Target of revenue collection set at Rs 241 crore 74 lakh

Smriti Udyan will become city picnic point
Mayor Ajaz Dhebar said that the need for a picnic spot is being felt within the city, hence a city picnic point will be constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crore. Where boating, play zone, cooking zone, relax zone etc. will be prepared. There is a plan to develop Indira Smriti Udyan as a city picnic point.
Mini Time Square will be built in the city at a cost of Rs 8 crore
Mini Time Square will be constructed between Telibandha/NIT/City Kotwali and Jai Stambh Chowk of Raipur city at a cost of Rs 8 crore.
100 electric buses will operate
Provision of Rs 3 crore for mosquito eradication in Raipur city.
Construction work of organic compost peat will be done in all the vegetable markets of the city.
Operation of 100 electric buses is to be started for Raipur city in this financial year.
Security personnel will be appointed for the maintenance of the gardens.
All big ponds will be treated biologically. High street development work will be done on the banks of the ponds at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
500 crore proposal for metro light train
Metro light train will be arranged to speed up public transportation in the city. For this, a proposal will be prepared to complete this project worth about Rs 500 crore through PPP mode.
Generally, there have been suggestions to carry out maintenance of the project on a large scale after construction. Keeping this in mind, it has been decided to form a high level monitoring committee. This committee will review the maintenance of completed works and regular monitoring of the operational works. The Mayor, Commissioner and other public representatives will be included in this committee.
City forest will be built near Sarona Teaching Ground
Arrangements of 02 mobile toilets are being made in each zone of the Municipal Corporation. The trend of open defecation is being eliminated.
A city forest will be constructed near the watering ground of Sarona, so that the air pollution occurring there can be controlled.
To improve the sanitation system, we will send a proposal to the government for the appointment of more than 50 sanitation workers in every ward.
Upgradation work of damaged toilets of Raipur city will be done. Also, as per the convenience of Pay and Use, maintenance work will be done from the amount received for the future.
Dog catcher in each zone to catch dogs
Keeping in view the increasing population of dogs and the harm caused to citizens, a provision is being made to provide dog catchers in every zone.
Municipal Corporation Raipur makes continuous efforts to save citizens from accidents caused by stray animals. In this financial year, a provision has been made to provide separate manpower to catch stray animals in all zones.
There will be efforts to increase revenue
Efforts are being made to increase revenue in all the 10 zones of the Municipal Corporation area. It has been decided that 25 percent of the total revenue received from each zone will be made available for the development of that zone.
• To strengthen the street electric lighting system, proposals worth Rs 50 lakh will be prepared and sent to the state government in this financial year.
• Provision for upgradation and beautification of urban ponds, parks, public places has been made in this financial year.
Sports academy will open in Raipur, grounds will be developed for fairs
A sports academy will be constructed in Raipur this year. In this academy, players of the region will get training and players of indoor weight lifting sports will get suitable opportunities.
Pragati Maidan of Raipur city will be upgraded and developed for organizing Swadeshi fair and other activities.
Appu Ghar will open for children
In Raipur city, repair and maintenance work of gardens etc. will be done at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
In order to fulfill its responsibility of providing a suitable place for children’s entertainment, it has been decided to start the construction and operation of Appu Ghar proposed by Municipal Corporation Raipur from this year.
Multi activity centre, theme garden will be built
Various gardens will be constructed and redeveloped in Raipur Municipal Corporation area at a cost of Rs 8 crore and these will be developed as theme gardens.
Multi Activity Center cum Convention Center will be built in Raipur at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
Smart street will be built in the city
A multi-play will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore under the expressway passing near the city.
Smart streets will be developed within the city at a cost of Rs 8 crore, in which vending points with specific color uniformity, underground cables, wide roads, covered drains will be developed.
GE Road will be developed at a cost of Rs 15 crore
GE Road, considered the lifeline of Raipur, will be given grandeur by giving it an attractive look at a cost of Rs 15 crore.
A buffer clean corridor will be prepared at the entrance of the city at a cost of Rs 7 crore for pollution control.
Start-up Studio and Co-working Center for Self-Employment
To connect local youth with self-employment and start-ups and co-working, a start-up studio and co-working center will be constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crore. At this place, local youth will share their ideas among themselves and discuss ideas related to their careers and move towards new means of employment.
Entry gates and 10 vending zones will be built at 7 places in the city.
To give a grand identity to Raipur arrival, attractive entrance gates will be built at 7 places at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
To streamline traffic and provide facilities to small street vendors, 10 vending zones will be created in the Municipal Corporation area.
3 mini stadiums in the next financial year
There is a plan to construct three mini stadiums at a cost of Rs 6 crore in the coming financial year. With its construction, all age groups will get a suitable venue for small and medium events and new talents will come forward through creative activities.
Yoga center, gym, garden at a cost of Rs 5 crore
The need for community buildings is being felt in the Prime Minister’s residential complexes. A plan for construction of community buildings has been prepared as per the expectations of the residents. Apart from this, arrangements will also be made to increase the maintenance and greenery of these complexes.
A plan is being prepared by the Municipal Corporation to prepare a commercial complex by earmarking a skill training center cum yoga centre, gym garden and sports field at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
Art and culture platform will be established for artists
‘Art and Culture Center’ will be established at a cost of Rs 5 crore to provide a platform to art and culture seekers and budding artists in Raipur Municipal Corporation area. Under this, budding artists will receive training under the guidance of traditional art and music instructors, and will also be provided with suitable space for activities related to traditional and modern publicity systems such as recording, scripting, production related training and work.
Dog shelter will be built for stray dogs
A dog shelter will be prepared at a cost of Rs 50 lakh for the shelter of stray dogs. According to the Act, rules and provisions of the Central and State Government, there will be arrangements for keeping sick dogs, treatment of injured, sterilization etc. under the supervision of veterinarians.
Mahadev Ghat will be beautified
An action plan is being prepared for the development of Mahadev Ghat area reputed for its faith and mythological importance. Under this, the site will be developed as a picturesque place by expanding and beautifying the basic facilities for the visitors. An amount of Rs 5 crore has been earmarked for this.
