So far, the state government has purchased a record 144.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers at support price. Along with paddy procurement, continuous lifting of paddy is going on for custom milling. Till now, DO has been issued for lifting of 106 lakh 41 thousand 562 metric tons of paddy, against which 102 lakh 34 thousand 241 metric tons of paddy has been lifted by the millers. In lieu of paddy procurement, an amount of more than Rs 31 thousand 913 crore has been paid to the farmers through the bank. According to the information received from the General Manager of Markfed, till now 144 lakh 92 thousand 96 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 24 lakh 72 thousand 440 farmers in the state till 04 February 2024 at support price.
