Chhattisgarh Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal has released the third installment of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana worth Rs 247.50 crore. Jaiswal also took a review meeting of the Health Department at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan in Raipur on Saturday.
The process of payment for private and government hospitals will be started from Monday. The Health Minister said that the work of giving funds to all the hospitals will be done as soon as possible. Also, on the question of negligence in private hospitals, he said that if necessary, changes will be made in the Nursing Act. Hospitals will be monitored.
In the meeting, Health Minister Jaiswal took information about Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana from the officials. He has instructed the officials to continuously monitor the hospitals contracted under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state. For this, recruitment of vacant administrative and technical posts at the level of state nodal agency will be done soon.
Action should be taken against those hospitals which complain
Health Minister Jaiswal said in the meeting that hospitals against which there are complaints, hospitals taking extra money from patients against the scheme, irregularities etc., will be strictly investigated. Jaiswal said that patients taking treatment under the scheme should not face any kind of problem.
He also said that the system of government hospitals is being improved. We will reform such that people go to private hospitals only when government beds are filled. Besides, by studying the policy regarding private health centres, work is being done on how the poor can get treatment in private hospitals. IMA member Rakesh Gupta has welcomed the department’s decision. Rakesh Gupta said that there was a continuous problem regarding payment for the last two years. There is a lot of anger among the hospital operators due to vaccination and recovery. It is necessary that new rules are made so that there is no problem in paying the amount.
