Chief Minister performed Bhoomi Pujan and inaugurated development works worth Rs 74 crore

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, who came to participate in the Jhumka Water Festival in Koriya district, went boating on a Shikara boat in the Jhumka reservoir spread over an area of 500 acres. Seeing the potential of natural beauty here, the Chief Minister announced to make Jhumka and Ghunghutta reservoirs as tourist areas. He also announced the construction of Nalanda campus in Korea. Regional MLA Shri Bhaiya Lal Rajwade was also present on this occasion.
Addressing the citizens at Jhumka Jal Mahotsav, the Chief Minister said that after seeing Jhumka Reservoir, I asked the officials whether it is man-made or natural. Officials said that this is natural. I realized what a beautiful heritage our ancestors have handed over to us in the form of ponds. He has created such a huge reservoir that it provides irrigation to a large area. The Chief Minister said that even in our Puranas, construction of pond has been considered an act of virtue. Thousands of our ancestors have built ponds in Chhattisgarh. The way Jhumka Water Festival has been organized in Koriya district today, it is a beautiful example of enhancing the tradition of our ancestors of water conservation. The Chief Minister said that Korea is naturally very beautiful and by improving tourism potential, people will come here in large numbers.
The Chief Minister said that today is my first arrival in your district after assuming the responsibility of the Chief Minister. All of you have formed our government by trusting the guarantee of Prime Minister Modi ji, for this I express my gratitude to all of you. The people of Chhattisgarh are very good, that is why it is said – Chhattisgarhia is the best.
The Chief Minister said that when I have come here, I have also brought good news for the mothers and sisters, on Wednesday (January 31, 2024) we took a decision regarding the Mahtari Vandan Scheme in the cabinet meeting. Under this, Rs 12,000 per year will soon come into the accounts of married mothers and sisters. The second good news for all of you is that now tendu leaf collectors will be paid at the rate of Rs 5500 per standard bag. The third good news is that today development works worth crores of rupees have been inaugurated and Bhoomi Pujan has been done here. I congratulate all of you for this. We all are continuously working towards fulfilling Modi ji’s guarantee.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that on the second day of the formation of the government, we approved houses for more than 18 lakh homeless families in the cabinet meeting on 14 December 2023. We have handed over the investigation regarding the complaints of PSC 2021 to CBI. On the request of farmers, we have extended the time for paddy procurement by four additional days till 4th February. We have made arrangements to make payment for paddy purchase within 48 hours, we will also pay the difference amount of paddy purchase soon. We all are fortunate that Ramlala has also arrived on 22nd January. We are starting Ayodhya Dham Teerth Darshan Scheme soon.
Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, while addressing the festival, said that on January 22, when Ramji ascended the throne in his birthplace Ayodhya, the entire country celebrated it, today Ayodhya has become the hub of the tourism industry, the basis of livelihood of millions of people. . Today Jhumka Mahotsav is also emerging as a big center for the people, in the coming times it will emerge as a big center of employment, tourism and entertainment.
On the occasion of the festival, District Administration Korea presented a photograph of Lord Shri Ram and the symbol of Jhumka Festival to the Chief Minister. Sejal Agrahari presented her painting to the Chief Minister.
Inspected the stall –
On the completion of the Prime Minister’s House under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Chief Minister Shri Sai handed over the keys of the house to the beneficiaries. Shri Sai, through the Tribal Development Department, distributed forest rights recognition letters to the beneficiaries of special backward tribe Pando, Gulab, Suraj, Dashrath Kalavati and Manmati and inquired about their well-being. Along with this, checks were given to Mrs. Archana Yadav, Urmila Rajwade, Sonkunwar, Pooja Rathore under Saksham Yojana. Soil health cards and electric pumps were distributed to farmers Shri Bharat, Mrs. Mankunwar, Digavan Singh.
Under the PMJY scheme, a check of Rs 5 lakh each was given to the beneficiaries of the Health Department, Sukhmania, Chandrakali, Suti, Ramnarayan and Tarjan Kumar Rajwade of village Odgi. Chief Minister Shri Sai presented a check of incentive amount of Rs. 1 lakh to Mrs. Belabai’s husband Vaisakhu through the Social Welfare Department under the Divyang Marriage Promotion Scheme.

The Chief Minister unveiled the Ramayana based painting exhibition by cutting the ribbon. In the exhibition, students aged between 6 years to 17 years from class 5th to class 12th prepared pleasing pictures of Ram, Lakshman, Sita and Hanuman on the basis of their respective experiences and displayed them in the exhibition. The Chief Minister was happy to see the talent of the children and encouraged them by saying that they should immerse themselves in whatever work they are interested in and work hard till the goal is achieved. This type of painting, drawing or artwork is a suitable medium to express emotions and is also a skill to fulfill one’s hobby.
Inauguration-Bhoomi Pujan of various development works –
Chief Minister Shri Sai inaugurated the Bhoomi Pujan of development works worth about Rs 74 crore in Koriya district, which includes Bhoomi Pujan of Rs 58 crore and inauguration of works worth Rs 16 crore. Bhoomipujan of Bardiya Group Water Supply Scheme at a cost of about Rs 47 crore, lining work under Tamdand Reservoir Scheme at a cost of about Rs 3 crore, construction of District Panchayat Resource Center at a cost of Rs 2 crore etc. was done. Similarly, work under Ekal Gram Yojana in Dakaipara, Sorga Retro Scheme, Dohra to Tengni road, construction of school building, canal repair and CC at a cost of about Rs 1.5 crore. Channel construction, power distribution center, check dam construction, RCC in village Dudhaniya. Works like culvert construction, Press Club building located at Baikunthpur etc. were inaugurated.
On this occasion, Collector Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh gave detailed information about Jhumka Reservoir and regarding the festival.
