Deputy Chief Minister graces the Grand Celebrations of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti with his presence
Shri Sao flags off “Rashtra Swabhiman Yatra”, releases Poster of “Utho, Jago Quiz Competition” on the occasion

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao attended the grand celebration of the National Youth Day and Swami Vivekananda Jayanti organized at Vivekananda Udyan in Bilaspur today. In this celebratory event organized by the Bilaspur branch of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Deputy Chief Minister paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda and garlanded his statue in Vivekananda Udyan. In his address to the programme, Shri Sao underlined Swami Vivekananda’s pivotal role in restoring the prestige and ancient glory of India. He emphasized on Swamiji’s transcendence of caste, creed, and narrow ideologies, and his teachings regarding the importance of patriotism and national unity.
Presiding over the function, Vice Chancellor Shri Arun Diwakar Nath Vajpayee highlighted various facets of Swami Vivekananda’s life, emphasizing the enduring relevance of his ideas. MLA Shri Sushant Shukla was present as a special guest of the programme. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao, the chief guest, participated in ‘Aarti’ of Bharat Mata at Vivekananda Udyan and flagged off the ‘Rashtra Swabhiman Yatra’. On the occasion, Shri Sao also released the poster of ‘Utho, Jaago quiz competition’ based on the life of Swami Vivekananda ji.
In his address to the program as Chief Guest, Shri Sao talked about the contemporary significance of Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts, envisioning their transformation into concrete actions to propel India to global leadership. He invoked the spirit of self-awareness and world welfare embodied in Swamiji’s philosophy. He highlighted Swamiji’s historic Chicago Synod speech, which raised the flag of Sanatan Dharma and drew attention to Indian values and spirituality.
In the program, Vice Chancellor Shri Vajpayee echoed Swami Ji’s faith in the youth, aligning with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed and powerful India by 2047. MLA Shri Sushant Shukla added that India’s pursuit of good governance and the establishment of Ramlala in Ayodhya signify the restoration of cultural independence. Dr. Ulhas Vare also inspired the youth with his wise words. The program was conducted by Shri Prateek Sharma. A large number of youth and distinguished citizens, including former Bilaspur Mayor Shri Kishore Rai and Leader of Opposition Municipal Corporation Shri Rajesh Singh Thakur. On the occasion, Dr. Om Makhija, Shri Rajkumar Sachdev and Dr. K.D. Devras were also present.
