Councilor of Ward 39 and in-charge of Women and Child Development Department, Rita Gera, daughter-in-law of Vaishali Nagar police station in Bhilai, has lodged an FIR against her husband Manavchandra Singh Gera, making serious allegations. After the complaint of daughter-in-law Shilpa Hora, now the police has started searching for the accused son. Whereas Shilpa Hora has appealed to Durg SP and Collector and asked for the custody of her son. Along with Shilpa Hora, Sikh community officials also reached the Collectorate today and demanded the arrest of the accused Manav Singh Gera. According to the complaint lodged by Shilpa Hora, daughter-in-law of councilor Rita Gera, at Vaishali Nagar police station, Congress councilor Rita has been living with her since her marriage. Singh Gera’s son Manavchandra Singh Gera was torturing Shilpa mentally and physically. Accused Manavchandra Singh used to force Shilpa to have sex by making her drink alcohol. Even after becoming pregnant, he continued to beat her. Shilpa told that in the beginning of marriage she ignored all these things. But even after becoming pregnant, she started being harassed in this way. Due to which she got upset. In all this, Ward 39 councilor and MIC member Rita Gera also took the side of her son.
Recently, Shilpa Hora, troubled by this harassment, had also lodged a complaint in a police station of her parents’ house in Orissa. After this, Shilpa withdrew the case after Manavchandra apologized and on the condition of not assaulting her further. But now after coming to Bhilai, Shilpa started being misbehaved again. Three months ago, after a dispute with her husband, Shilp had gone to her parents’ home in Orissa. Manav did not even allow his son Chitransh to be taken. But a few days ago, when Shilpa reached here to pick up her son, accused Manavchandra Singh Gera tried to make her run away while waving a sword. The police is also examining its CCTV footage.
Shilpa is now demanding the arrest of accused Manavchandra Singh Gera while demanding the custody of her son Chitransh. For this, now Sikh community officials have reached Durg District Collectorate and are pleading for justice from Durg SP and Collector. The police is now calling the accused absconding.
