Will the government give Rs 3100 to the farmers for selling paddy this time? Congress is raising this question. On Saturday, State Congress President Deepak Baij wrote a letter to Chief Minister Vishnudev demanding instructions on this matter. In the letter sent by Deepak Baij, it was claimed that all the farmers who are selling paddy in this session are not being paid Rs 3100 per quintal as promised by BJP.

State Congress President Deepak Baij fixed the price of paddy at Rs 3100. Wrote a letter to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for immediate declaration per quintal and lump sum payment at the procurement centers only. It was said in the letter that the process of purchasing paddy in the state has started for more than one and a half months. Farmers are coming to the paddy procurement centers to sell their paddy but there is a dilemma among the farmers. Baij has said in his letter that Bharatiya Janata Party has promised the farmers in its election promise that the price of paddy will be Rs 3100. Per quintal, a lump sum payment will be made immediately after selling the paddy by setting up separate counters in the gram panchayats of the procurement centres, but this is not happening.

Badge has further written in the letter that no decision has been taken yet by the government in this regard nor has any instruction been issued. Farmers of Chhattisgarh are worried that they will not get Rs 3100. How and when will the price be received? There is no financial provision for the purchase of paddy even in the supplementary budget presented by the state government in the Assembly. This has further increased the concern of the farmers. What is the government saying?
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai was in Delhi on Saturday. He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this meeting, the CM told the PM – We have decided to buy 21 quintals of paddy per acre at the rate of Rs 3100 in Chhattisgarh from November 1, 2023. Earlier on December 18, after returning from Delhi, the Chief Minister of the state Vishnu Dev publicly told the media – Paddy will be procured as per Modi’s guarantee and farmers will be paid Rs 3100 per quintal. Paddy will be purchased at the rate of 21 quintals per acre.
