After the defeat in Chhattisgarh, the round of allegations and resignations continues against senior leaders in Congress. Another former Congress MLA Chunnilal Sahu has resigned from the post. Sahu was the state vice president of the party. Earlier, former MLA Mohit Kerketta had also resigned, however, after consultation, he withdrew his resignation.

Chunnilal Sahu has written in his resignation letter – In the last four years, I have tried to fulfill the responsibility given to me by the party as Vice President. In the 2023 assembly elections, I worked on Masturi and Kota of my charge district Bilaspur (Rural), four seats of home district Janjgir and Raigarh Lok Sabha charge area. Here the results in the Assembly have been in favor of the party, but I am saddened by the crushing defeat of Congress in the state. Due to which I resign from the post of Vice President of State Congress Committee.
