Food department raids illegal cylinder sales and refilling, large number of cylinders seized from houses and shops

Balodabazar. On the instructions of Collector Chandan Kumar, the Food Department at the District Headquarters has conducted raids on illegal sale and refilling of gas cylinders. During this time, about 100 domestic and commercial use cylinders and gas refilling items were seized from roadside houses in the city and village Chhuiha of Balodabazar. Keeping in mind all the rules and regulations, roadside general stores and shops selling shoes and slippers were seized. Illegal sale of gas cylinders was being done by keeping them openly on the road under cover. On receiving the information, the Food Department took action today and seized about 21 filled and empty cylinders from both the shops. Action was taken on the information that illegal cylinders were kept in a house located in Balodabazar Bhatapara Road. Where 76 cylinders of HP and Indane Company were found filled and empty. Besides this, new small gas cylinders and gas refilling machine have also been found. Looking at the situation here, it seemed that refilling work was being done for many years and the cylinders were being sold after refilling. The Food Department had to face a lot of difficulties in raiding the house located in Chhuiha village of Balodabazar Bhatapara Road. When the shutter was opened, the officers were left in tears. Here, materials, machines and empty gas cylinders were found to fill gas from big gas cylinders to small ones on a large scale, disregarding the rules and regulations. After which the vacant department staff including the district vacant officer has started taking action.

On the other hand, gas cylinders are being sold openly through shops and cylinders are being refilled illegally. Such illegal refilling can also give rise to a major incident. The question arises that from where do these illegal cylinder sellers get these cylinders? Now it remains to be seen how transparently and truthfully the Food Department takes action. At present, the food department has succeeded in avoiding the incident from happening in the district headquarters.

District Food Officer Vimal Dubey said that on receiving information about illegal purchase of gas cylinders, today on the instructions of the Collector, the Food Department team found 21 empty and filled cylinders in two shops of Balodabazar Nagar. Besides, 76 empty and filled cylinders and refilling machine were also found in a warehouse like house near village Chhuiha in Balodabazar Bhatapara Road. On which action is being taken. At present the Food Department officials are not able to tell whose house it is and for how long the work of refilling gas cylinders is being done. It is being investigated and action will be taken against the culprit as per the rules of the Food Department.
