Raipur. 29 November. Now only 4 days are left for the results of Chhattisgarh assembly elections to come. Both Congress and BJP are claiming to form their own governments. Among them, the worst condition is of those MLAs who have become ‘former’ due to not getting tickets this time. Even before the results came, government facilities of these MLAs have been stopped.

Actually, there are 24 MLAs from both BJP and Congress, to whom their party has not given tickets this time. All of them have been informed from the Assembly Secretariat that they are not getting the benefit of government facilities since December. Of these, 4 MLAs have got government accommodation, while 20 were given housing allowance.

Houses will have to be vacated before formation of new assembly

Officials of the Assembly Secretariat said that the MLAs who did not become candidates in the elections will have to vacate their residences before the formation of the new Assembly. Rent allowance will not be given in the month of December. These MLAs have been informed about being given no duty and being deprived of government facilities.

There are limited government residences of MLAs in the state.

Officials of the Assembly Secretariat said that they have limited accommodation for the MLAs. The MLAs who win the elections will have to be provided accommodation. Therefore, those who are not contesting elections and are MLAs have been asked to vacate this residence. Officials say that this information has been given to the MLAs who are not contesting the elections because they are not likely to become MLAs. The winning MLAs will get already allotted accommodation. Arrangements for rent allowance will be made to the new MLAs. Therefore, the rent allowance of the current MLAs who do not contest elections will also be stopped from the month of December.

Congress did not give tickets to 22 and BJP to 2

Congress has not fielded 22 sitting MLAs and BJP has not fielded one sitting MLA in the elections this time. Of these, 18 Congress MLAs and two BJP MLAs are given rent allowance of Rs 30 thousand per month from the Assembly. They will not get this facility now.
