Raipur: Life line of pensioners in the Corona crisis became pensioners: door-to-door pension distributed

Raipur, 3 July 2020. The Chhattisgarh government has made special efforts to provide relief to the elders, disabled and destitute of the society in the lockdown period imposed due to Corona. Besides providing regular pension amount on time in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district along with the entire state, 44 thousand 978 beneficiaries have also been benefited under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. At the value of one thousand rupees per beneficiary, about Rs 5-5 hundred has been deposited in the accounts of about 4 crore 50 lakh beneficiaries in two installments. Being associated with the sensitive section of the society, he has been provided funds by visiting his village and home with the help of cash Sangwari. The cash Sangwari project in the district, which provides easy access to pension services in the lockdown period, has received considerable praise.

 

During the lockdown period, it was difficult for people to go to the bank and withdraw money. In such a situation, cash conglomerates have proved to be lifelines for pensioners. In the district, 320 cash workers active in the district have paid cash of about Rs. 5 crore 60 lakh to the door-to-door of the pensioners even in the odd circumstances. Due to which the Divyang and Burjug pensioners have got relief from the hassles caused by the traffic and the long queues outside the banks.
During the Corona period, the Divyang groups of the district were equally active in spreading awareness under the patronage of Social Welfare Department. Companion Divyang Group, Lahod, Annapurna Divyang Group, Latuva, Able Divyang Group, Tarashiva stitched many masks to protect against Corona. He distributed about 3 thousand 500 masks free of cost to every household in the village, Anganwadi workers, grocery shopkeepers, vegetable vendors, Kotwar etc. In view of the superior quality of masks at the initiative of the department, more than 17 thousand masks have been procured by the government departments from the Divyang Group, due to which the business of the groups is about 1 lakh 90 thousand. Director of the Divyang Group, Shri Ram Patel, says that with this kind of administration, the Divyang fellows have got self-employment opportunities in times of crisis and self-sufficiency in the lockdown period.
The Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with local bodies and various social organizations, made arrangements for drought ration material and food packets for more than 1 lakh 70 thousand destitute, needy and migrant workers. These included 212 PwDs and 46 third gender people. They were provided by making packets of 15 kg rice, 02 kg pulses, oil, soap, spices and green vegetables. During the corona period, under the National Family Assistance, 67 lakh rupees were disbursed through bank accounts to departmental schemes. Assistance of 6 lakh rupees was provided to the 11 Divyang Navpati under disabled marriage promotion. Special care has been taken in the old age home keeping in mind the rapid infection of the novel corona virus Kovid-19.
