There is news of the charges against Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel being withdrawn in the online betting app case. Actually, a letter is going viral. In this, accused Aseem Das was quoted as saying – I have not given Rs 508 crore to CM Baghel. Shubham Soni has framed me.
Now BJP has demanded investigation into this letter. The party says that under whose pressure is Aseem Das writing that letter? Is this his handwriting? However, no official statement has come from the investigating agency ED regarding the viral letter.
On the other hand, Asim’s viral letter has reached Raipur court. Asim’s lawyer Shoaib Alvi said that we presented the letter in the court during the hearing. This has been included in the record.
Actually, on November 2, ED had arrested Aseem Das with cash worth Rs 5 crore. Quoting the accused, the agency had claimed that the promoters of the betting app had paid Rs 508 crore to CM Baghel.
Now read 4 things written in the viral letter…
1. ED forced me to sign
Asim has written that when the ED caught me and took me to jail, after reading the newspaper there, I came to know that a statement has been published in my name that I have given Rs 508 crore to the Chief Minister, this is untrue. Asim has claimed that he has studied till 10th. He doesn’t know English. ED people have forcibly signed the statement written in English.
Asim wrote- I don’t even know what is written in my statement. ED took him on remand for 7 days, but did not interrogate him. No investigation was even done. I was just made to sit. ED kept supplying food.
2. I have been framed by Shubham Soni
Asim says that he went to Dubai to meet Shubham on 8th October. It was Shubham who had sent him the ticket and invited him to visit. After meeting there, he came back after four days. Shubham called him for the second time on 25th October. There he deceived that he had to do contract work in Chhattisgarh.
He brought the iPhone to see the same work. The SIM was already installed in it. He kept my old phone. Reached Raipur here on 1st November, got off the flight and went to the parking lot. I was told that the car was parked there. Based on the car number, I found the car, the key was in it.
From there I went straight to Hotel Tryon. There, room number 311 was booked for me. I was told to wait in the same room. Meanwhile, a call came in the name of Shubham and he was asked to come to the main road outside the hotel. When I went out there, a young man wearing a mask came and gave me the phone. I took the phone and went to the parking lot. Then a call came to sit inside the car and open the trunk.
This is the same letter of Aseem Das which he has written to ED.

3. Shubham is not the promoter of betting, but two youths from Bhilai are the promoters.
Asim further said that as soon as I opened the trunk, a man wearing a helmet came on a black bike. He kept two bags in the trunk and went away. After 15 minutes again a call came to open the trunk. As soon as the trunk was opened, two people came and left with three bags. Then a young man came and took my phone. He gave the same iPhone which was given to me in Dubai. I checked while sitting and there were many videos and voice messages of Shubham.
I was asked to go to the room from there. After 5 minutes someone knocked the door. When the door was opened a person came inside. He said pick up the stuff. Some girls also came with the boy. I was taken to the car. As soon as he opened the car, he asked whose money it was?
I asked who are you guys? Then he told that we are from ED. That ED officer was Thandilal Meena. From the words of the ED people it seemed that they knew where and who had kept the money. Asim claims that Shubham is not a betting promoter. The promoters are two youths from Bhilai
4. Bookies threatened by ED, fled Dubai
Asim says that Saurabh, Ravi and Shubham all three have left Dubai. When she last met Shubham, she had said that she had a flight to Europe on 5th November. When he asked about betting, Shubham said that Ravi and Saurabh had an arrangement with senior ED officer Mishra. There is no danger there. He suspects that all three are in Europe or Amsterdam.
Who is Shubham Soni?
On November 3, ED, quoting Aseem Das, had claimed that Rs 508 crore has been paid to the CM regarding the betting app. After this, on November 5, a video of Shubham Soni was released by BJP. Shubham described himself as the operator of Mahadev Satta App. Now Asim claims that Shubham has conspired to implicate him and link the Chief Minister’s name in this case. BJP demands investigation into the letter.
BJP leader Kedar Gupta has demanded an investigation regarding the viral letter of Aseem Das. He said whether the letter has the signature of Aseem Das or not? Aseem Das is in jail, is Aseem Das’s handwriting in the letter or not? Under whose pressure is he writing the letter? This is a matter of investigation. Kedar Gupta said that ED has issued a statement after interrogation. On this basis the court has also sent him to jail.
ED had claimed- CM Baghel got Rs 508 crore
ED had issued a statement on November 4 claiming that the promoters of Mahadev betting app had paid Rs 508 crore to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. ED made this claim quoting the arrested cash courier Aseem Das. Also ED said that now it is being investigated. CM had said the claim was wrong.
On ED’s claim, CM Bhupesh Baghel had said- What could be a bigger joke than this. What is the point of applying pressure by holding someone? If I accuse the Prime Minister of anything, will it be correct? He also replied by tweeting and wrote that I have said earlier that BJP wants to contest Chhattisgarh elections with the help of ED, IT.
CM had said – In the name of alleged investigation of Mahadev App, ED first raided the house of people close to me to defame them and now on the basis of the statement of an unknown person, they have accused me of taking Rs 508 crore from Dabur Group. The company has termed the FIR lodged against Chairman Mohit Burman and Director Gaurav Burman as a mischievous act. Speaking to CNBC TV-18, Dabur spokesperson said, ‘We have not received information about any such FIR.
