: Raipur. The voting going on in Raipur North Assembly of Chhattisgarh on Friday 17th November will add a rare, unforgettable and very proud achievement in the history of elections. For the first time in independent India, it is going to happen that only women are in charge of elections in the entire assembly. There are 201 polling stations here and all are Sangwari booths. Here, from the presiding officer to the polling officer, all are women. For this huge task, 804 women have been directly entrusted with the responsibility and about 200 women have been kept in reserve. The observer of this assembly is also a woman IAS officer, Vimla R. His liaison officer is also a woman. In most of the booths, the responsibility of security is also the responsibility of women. Let us tell you that the Chief Electoral Officer in Chhattisgarh is also an IAS officer, Reena Baba Saheb, a pauper. When the voters of North Raipur Assembly enter the polling booth, the work from checking the voter slip to getting signatures in the register to getting their fingers inked is completely done by women. Will be responsible only. There will be equal number of women presiding officers in 201 booths and 603 polling officers.
It is also noteworthy that gender equality is deeply ingrained in the society of Chhattisgarh and the sex ratio of the state testifies to this. In Raipur North Assembly, where women officers have been put on duty at all the booths, the sex ratio is 1010, that is, there are 1010 women for every thousand men. Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure said in this regard that at the beginning of the election process, Then we came up with the idea that why not hand over the entire responsibility of elections to women in an assembly of the district. Everyone appreciated the idea, then we planned it. This morning, when the polling teams arrived to leave for their destination centres, it was a great pleasure to see their enthusiasm. He told us that this is a historic occasion when the entire team is of women and we will fulfill such an important responsibility alone.
Collector Bhure said that in Raipur South Assembly too, there will be only women officers at half the booths. In this way, women will have an important command of elections in Raipur North and Raipur South Assembly. On discussing this, Nisha Ramteke, associated with the polling team, said that this is a very pleasant opportunity for us. All the women were there in the training and now our voting contingent is also made up of women. We all will be able to complete this work very well and with coordination.
Leela Patel said that confidence has been expressed in women, it is a very good thing. It is possible that some people may suspect that if men are not cooperative then women may face problems. Tomorrow it will be proved that women can also fulfill every important responsibility alone.
