On the night of Diwali in the capital Raipur, a massive fire broke out at a four-storey gift shop in Golbazar. In this arson, the businessman’s goods worth lakhs were burnt to ashes. People present nearby suspect that the fire was caused by a firecracker that had entered through a broken window. However, the actual cause of the fire has not been revealed. Traders have also met Golbazar police and demanded an early investigation.
According to information received from the police, the fire broke out in the Pooja gift shop of Golbazar late night. This gift shop is four storeyed. It is being told that the fire started from the first floor. Which spread upwards and reached the fourth floor. Today’s flames were so bright that they were visible far away. After this incident, there was panic among the people present nearby. 5 fire brigade vehicles brought it under control.
According to the information received, a large quantity of cartons and plastic items were present in the shop. As soon as these items caught fire, the fire broke out and spread all around. Due to the presence of cartons, the fire spread rapidly and engulfed the upper floors as well.
The fire broke out around 12.30 in the night and took a huge turn in no time. After people’s information, 5 vehicles of fire brigade broke down due to fear of firecracker entering through the window.
According to the people present nearby, the glasses of many windows in front of the shop were broken. Firecrackers might have entered inside from this place on the night of Diwali. Due to which the goods inside caught fire. However, the cause of the fire has not been confirmed yet.
Traders association met the police
After the fire incident, members of Gol Bazaar Traders Association met the police on Monday and demanded a speedy investigation and strict action in the matter. There is also suspicion that there may be involvement of some anti-social element in this, which has also been demanded for investigation.
In this case, Gol Bazaar police station in-charge Yogesh Kashyap said that as soon as information about the arson was received, the police team reached the spot along with the fire brigade. In this case, the cause of the fire is currently being investigated. Information has been sought about the damage caused by the fire.
