A subcommittee meeting of the Congress Central Election Committee will be held in Delhi on October 17. In this meeting, the names of the second list of Congress will be finalized. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Deputy CM T S Singhdev, State Incharge Kumari Selja, State President Deepak Baij will attend the meeting.
After this meeting, the second list of Congress may be released on 18 or 20 October. It is likely that the second list will have around 35-40 names. This list will be released by combining new and old faces. Before leaving for Delhi, TS Singhdev said that our job is to give suggestions. The high command will decide when to declare the names, announcement on 60 seats will be made by tomorrow evening or the day after tomorrow – Singhdev
Before leaving for Delhi to attend the sub-committee meeting of the Central Election Committee, Deputy CM TS Singhdev said – Candidates for the remaining 60 seats of Congress can be announced by tomorrow evening or the day after. Chhattisgarh seats will be discussed before lunch on Tuesday. He said that performance will be the basis of the ticket.
Performance will decide the ticket – Singhdev
TS Singhdev said that change is the law of nature. Currently, out of the 30 seats announced, eight seats have been changed. Something can change even at 60. The basis will be performance. Not every man plays the same way. If a cricket team is formed, the same person does not play for 20 years. When there is selection in a cricket team, sometimes someone is an opener, sometimes someone is number three. Right now KL Rahul is in form. Sometimes Shubham Gill is playing. There is always change as per the need. Tickets of MLAs will be cut in the second list also.
In the second list also, tickets of 10 to 12 MLAs can be cut. This time, the party is not giving tickets to all the MLAs whose reports are weak on the basis of the survey. From Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to all the Congress leaders, they have been continuously saying that the party will field only winning candidates. New faces will be given a chance.
Tickets of these MLAs were cut in the first list
The MLAs whose tickets have been cut in the first list include Mamta Chandrakar from Pandariya, Chhanni Sahu from Khujji, Rajman Benzam from Chitrakot, Devati Karma from Dantewada, Anup Nag from Antagarh, Bhuvaneshwar Baghel from Dongargarh, Gurudayal Banjare from Navagarh, Shishupal from Kanker. Sori’s name is included. State Congress President and MP Deepak Baij will contest the elections in place of Rajman Benjamin. In place of Devati Karma from the Karma family, her son Chhaviendra Karma has now got a chance.
Announcement of candidates for lost seats in the second list
At present, Congress has 71 MLAs in the state. The party can release the names of candidates in its second list on those 19 seats where it does not yet have MLAs. This is so that the candidate can get more time for his campaign.
CEC was held on 12 October
Earlier, CEC meeting was held in Delhi on 12 October. National President Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Rahul Gandhi and other big leaders of the state participated in this meeting. After this meeting, the first list of Congress was released on October 15 in which 30 names were included.
