Raipur: Assembly General Election-2023: More than five lakh banners, posters and wall writings were removed across the state under the Defacement of Property Act.

Over 3.37 lakh campaign materials removed from public properties and 1.63 lakh from private properties, totaling over 5.51 lakh such incidents identified across the state

After the Model Code of Conduct for the Assembly General Elections-2023 came into effect in the state, under the Defacement of Property Act, action has been taken to remove five lakh 449 wall writings, posters, banners etc. from public and private properties by October 15. Three lakh 37 thousand 060 promotional materials have been removed from public properties and one lakh 63 thousand 389 promotional materials have been removed from private properties.

Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that a total of five lakh 51 thousand 699 cases have been identified under the Defacement of Property Act by all the collectors and district election officers. Of these, three lakh 61 thousand 378 cases are related to public properties and one lakh 90 thousand 321 cases are related to private properties. Under the Act, so far two lakh 33 thousand 074 wall writings, one lakh 58 thousand 810 posters, 70 thousand 405 banners and 90 thousand 669 other publicity materials have been identified across the state.

Since the Model Code of Conduct became effective, under the Defacement of Property Act, 25 thousand 232 cases of removal of banners, posters, wall writing etc. from government and private properties in Durg district, 5151 in Sukma, 7453 in Gariaband, 14 thousand 832 in Bemetara, Khairagarh. -3382 in Chhuikhadan-Gandai, two in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, 27 thousand 356 in Balod, 8305 in Jashpur, 846 in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, 20 thousand 592 in Surguja, 20 thousand 628 in Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Raigarh. 24 thousand 953 actions have been taken, 12 thousand 129 in Surajpur and 15 thousand 918 in Kanker.

Under the Property Defacement Act, a total of 67 thousand 501 in Bilaspur district, 1420 in Dantewada, 7666 in Mahasamund, 18 thousand 204 in Janjgir-Champa, 1332 in Bastar, 67 thousand 120 in Korba, 14 thousand 584 in Kondagaon, 12 thousand 170 in Kabirdham. , 2632 in Bijapur, 6065 in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, 6412 in Rajnandgaon, 9768 in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, 2777 in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, 6184 in Korea, 1008 in Narayanpur, 12 thousand 737 in Mungeli, 9526 in Sakti, 18 in Dhamtari. The process of removing wall writing, posters, banners etc. from 109 thousand and 50 thousand 760 properties in Raipur has been done till October 15.
