As soon as the Model Code of Conduct for Assembly General Elections-2023 came into effect in the state, the process of removing wall writing, posters and banners from public and private properties under the Defacement of Property Act has started. A total of one lakh 47 thousand 447 promotional materials have been removed from both these types of properties in the state till October 10. Action has been taken on 1 lakh 14 thousand 320 cases related to public properties and 33 thousand 127 cases related to private properties.

Chief Electoral Officer of the state, Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that a total of one lakh 91 thousand 700 cases have been identified under the Defacement of Property Act by all the collectors and district election officers. These include 1 lakh 39 thousand 740 cases related to public property and 51 thousand 960 cases related to private property. The process of removing them is going on at a fast pace by all the district administrations. Under the Act, 11 thousand 039 cases of removal of banners, posters, wall writing etc. from government and private properties in Durg district, 1478 in Sukma, 5200 in Gariaband, 2913 in Bemetra, 1223 in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, 13 thousand 578 in Balod, 2461 actions have been taken in Jashpur, 373 in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur and 9881 in Surguja.

Under the Property Distortion Act, a total of 7977 in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, 6052 in Raigarh, 2172 in Surajpur, 2016 in Kanker, 4305 in Bilaspur, 491 in Dantewada, 6336 in Mahasamund, 4634 in Janjgir-Champa, 488 in Bastar, 9106 in Korba. , 9262 in Kondagaon, 1468 in Kabirdham, 642 in Bijapur, 1401 in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, 1350 in Rajnandgaon, 7432 in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, 2384 in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, 615 in Korea, 634 in Narayanpur, 7789 in Mungeli, Sakti. The process of removing wall writing, posters and banners from 5245 properties in Uttar Pradesh, 5464 in Dhamtari and 12 thousand 038 properties in Raipur has been done till October 10.
