The dates of assembly elections in Chhattisgarh have been announced on Monday. After this, District Election Officer Sarveshwar Bhure held a press conference in Raipur on Tuesday. He said that Section 144 has been imposed in the district. Along with this, leave of government employees has been banned.
He said that arrangements are being made to enable elderly and disabled people to vote at home, for this a form will be filled. Voters wishing to vote at home will be able to exercise their franchise in the presence of officers, videographers and security personnel. Five days after enrollment, BLOs will go to home and take consent.
Voters above 80 years of age and with more than 40 percent disability will be given the facility to cast their vote sitting at home. 5 days after nomination, BLO will go to the voters’ homes and take consent. After the consent, when the list of contesting candidates is finalized, the ballot paper will be printed and the mobile polling team will conduct the voting at home. There are about 32 eligible voters in the district.
No election campaigning at religious places
The District Election Officer said that it will be mandatory to take permission from the district administration before holding a dharna, procession or general meeting. Propaganda will not be allowed from religious places. You will not be able to campaign from 10 pm to 6 am. Prior permission will have to be taken for boundary walls, road dividers, banners-posters on electricity-telephone poles and wall writing in public places. There will be no Bhoomi Pujan and inauguration functions of government works. Display of weapons in public places has been banned. Arms licenses have also been cancelled. The District Election Officer has ordered the license holders to deposit their weapons in the concerned police stations within 7 days.
300 polling stations in the district are sensitive
There are a total of 1869 polling stations in the district. Of these, 300 polling stations are sensitive. Out of the total polling stations, web casting will be done in 935 booths, in which monitoring will be done during polling through CCTV. People will be able to lodge complaints on C Vigil app.
As soon as the code of conduct comes into force, people will now be able to register their election-related complaints through the C Vigil app. Election activities will be monitored through this app. The District Election Officer said that after receiving the complaint, the team will take action there within 100 minutes. Voting for seven assembly seats in Raipur district is to be held in the second phase on November 17. Election notification will be issued in the district on October 21. The last date for nomination is October 30 and withdrawal of nominations will be possible on November 2. Counting of votes will take place on December 3.
