On Saturday, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the Chhattisgarh Yuva Mitan Transport Scheme in the state. Now students coming to college from far away places will not face any problem. Students will get free transportation facility to go from home to college. More than one lakh students studying in colleges and universities will benefit from this scheme. Bhupesh Baghel started this scheme from his residence office in Raipur. He said that I had promised you that the government will provide free transport facility to the students studying in colleges from home to college and from college to home. As per the same promise, Chhattisgarh Yuva Mitan Parivahan Yojana is being launched in today’s program. How will the students get the benefit?
To avail the benefits of Chhattisgarh Yuva Mitan Parivahan Yojana, students can apply for bus pass with college and route on the website. The application can be approved or rejected after logging in to the college and checking all the details. Approved students can log in and download their bus pass with QR code and keep its printout safe with them. After this the bus conductor will check the pass. Students will be taken from home to college and from college to home.
30 thousand teachers recruited in the state
In the launching program of the scheme, Chief Minister Baghel said that more than 30 thousand teachers have been recruited to overcome the shortage of teachers in all the government schools of the state. 1252 assistant professors, 40 librarians and 39 sports officers have been appointed in colleges. Recently we have also started Swami Atmanand Coaching Scheme for 12th class students. Under this scheme, students are being given free coaching for the preparation of NEET and JEE entrance examinations.
Status of colleges in the state
The government claims that 83 new colleges have been opened in the state during the last five years. 23 thousand 500 seats have been increased in already running colleges. 10 new girls colleges have been opened in the district headquarters. 10 English medium colleges have also been started in the state. In the year 2018-19, 02 lakh 26 thousand 373 students were admitted in colleges in the state, in comparison to this, 03 lakh 35 thousand 139 students have taken admission in the year 2022-23.
