The matter of recruitment of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has now reached the Supreme Court. The hearing of this case was earlier to be held on September 27, but now it will be held on October 6. Bilaspur High Court has also raised questions regarding the recruitment of relatives of officers and leaders in this matter. On the other hand, political excitement regarding this has increased in the state.

Former Home Minister and Rampur MLA Nankiram Kanwar has given the list of relatives of officers selected in PSC in the High Court. After this, Congress has also put forward the list of old officers and leaders whose relatives were selected. In such a situation, for the first time, the selection list of CGPSC 2021-22 is becoming an issue in the recruitment examination and selection elections.

The selection list of CGPSC 2021-22 is surrounded by controversies. It is alleged that there has been fraud and nepotism in recruitment. The High Court has also put a stay on 13 appointments after the PIL was filed. However, Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha also expressed displeasure at the petitioner’s advocate regarding some facts. The court has directed the state government and the PSC to verify the authenticity of the facts in the list presented by the petitioner.

For the first time, there will be a big issue in PSC elections.

While Congress is trying to woo the youth vote bank regarding unemployment allowance, BJP is trying to sabotage their plans on the issue of irregularities in PSC recruitments. For the first time, the issue of PSC seems to be becoming important in the political battle. While raising the issue of corruption of the Congress government, BJP is also raising the issue of PSC.

How much importance BJP is giving to this issue can also be understood from its charge sheet. When Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the charge sheet, the PSC case was also prominently mentioned in it. Earlier, BJYM national president Tejashwi Surya had also raised the issue of PSC loudly in the Hunkar rally held in the capital.

Congress released list on BJP’s allegations

In this matter, when BJP started adopting an aggressive stance against the government, Congress also released a list. It has been told that nepotism continued even during the BJP rule. He wrote in the list the names of those people who were selected and were relatives of some officer. This list was released by Congress’s chief spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla. Congress claims – Maximum number of brothers and sisters were selected in 2008.

Congress claims that apart from the children of the officers, many brothers and sisters have also been selected simultaneously in the PSC. The highest number of such candidates have been in PSC 2008, in which the selected candidates are real brothers or sisters. What do experts say?

Educationist Dr. Jawahar Suri Shetty says, many questions are being raised on CGPSC examinations. To make it better, there should be no politics in the selection of the chairman and members of the commission. Such people should be appointed who are impartial and have no connection with political activities.

If their family members are appearing in any examination then it will be necessary to keep themselves away from confidential work related to it.
PSC exam which is conducted in three stages. The first two stages should follow the UPSC pattern for preliminary and main examinations.
Three papers are made in this pattern. It is sent to a confidential place for printing. Apart from the Chairman, no one knows which paper will be given among those three. Such things will maintain confidentiality.
Students should have confidence that selection is being done on the basis of merit. If there is this confidence among the candidates, then only the state will get good officers for the state and our quality will also remain intact.
The controversy started from 2003 itself

The controversy started when the PSC examination was held for the first time in Chhattisgarh in 2003 after the formation of the state. Lakhs of youth who dreamed of becoming officers appeared in this examination. Among them, one face was that of Ravindra Singh of Rajnandgaon, who had reached the interview in this examination.

Ravindra Singh told that in the year 2003 when he had given the PSC exam. Then his age was 29 years. Had appeared in MPPSC before, but the excitement of appearing in the first examination to be held in my state was something else. He prepared with all his hard work, but whatever happened between the exam and the results, he lost his trust in PSC.

MPPSC questions were repeated

Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission was formed in 2003, three years after the formation of the state. This year, for the first time, PSC examination was held for 147 posts. More than 1.5 lakh candidates had participated in it. In the preliminary examination, in the objective questions of Sociology and Public Administration, the questions of the last three years of the examination held in Madhya Pradesh were repeated.

From numbers 1 to 33, questions of the year 1996 exam were included, from numbers 34 to 66, questions of 1997 and from numbers 67 to 100, questions of the year 1999 were included. Whereas in the subject of Agriculture, the entire 100 questions of the 1st year of 1997-98 of Madhya Pradesh were taken and the answers were also in the same order. Those who set the paper did not even bother to set new questions. Its results came in the year 2005. Milk should be milk and water should be water.

State General Secretary of BJP, retired IAS OP Chaudhary said that when we were raising questions, the Congress government kept asking us to bring facts, bring evidence. Commenting on the selection process, 13 appointments have been put on hold by the High Court. Is this not enough to get tested?

That said, values

Milk should be milk and water should be water.

State General Secretary of BJP, retired IAS OP Chaudhary said that when we were raising questions, the Congress government kept asking us to bring facts, bring evidence. Commenting on the selection process, 13 appointments have been put on hold by the High Court. Is this not enough to get tested?

He said that candidates are continuously presenting facts through social media regarding irregularities in evaluation. The Congress government, which is playing with the future of the youth, is busy hiding its dark deeds by ignoring all the facts and demands for investigation. That’s why we are saying that there should be a CBI investigation.

Is it a crime to be someone’s relative, it is not wrong

Congress chief spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla said, someone is related to each other. Uncle-nephew, or child of an officer got selected, being someone’s brother-in-law, being a relative of a selected leader, is it a crime? We have released a list regarding the allegations that BJP is making. Earlier also relatives were selected. We do not believe that this is a crime. If someone has taken money then complain. PSC-2005 controversy will be investigated

After irregularities came to light in the 2003 examination, candidates were confident that past mistakes would not be repeated. But PSC made new mistakes here. When the model answers of the preliminary examination were released, the answers to 52 out of 75 questions were wrong. The situation was such that sunflower was declared the national flower of India. All the students failed in History subject.

The matter again reached the High Court, when the then PSC Chairman Ashok Darbari was suspended. The High Court canceled the entire list, but it was later reinstated. Even today no decision has been taken regarding the matter.

PSC 2008 controversy

After all these controversies, PSC examination was conducted again in the year 2008 for 466 posts. But the selection based on wrong answers has again put the PSC in the circle of questions. Here mistakes were repeated again and again. Prem Prakash Sinha, Anand Kashyap and others filed a petition in the High Court. Even after the model answers and claimed objections released after the main examination, objections were raised regarding the results.

In this examination, results were released after wrong answers to about 20 questions of Sociology, Public Administration, Law, General Studies and Hindi. After the hearing, the court also sought answers from the PSC and the government in this matter but then nothing happened in the matter.
