Raipur: Exemplary work done for women empowerment in Chhattisgarh: Smt. Priyanka Gandhi

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi visited the exhibition related to government schemes and programs in the Mahila Samridhi Sammelan program. He appreciated the innovative schemes being run by Chhattisgarh government for women empowerment and overall development of women and described it as exemplary. An exhibition of 11 departments was organized at Jayanti Stadium located in Bhilai Nagar of Durg district. While visiting the exhibition, Mrs. Gandhi also encouraged the women by participating in Sua dance.

While visiting the departmental exhibition at Jayanti Stadium, Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi praised the Haat-Bazaar Clinic and Nutrition Campaign being run in the rural areas of Chhattisgarh. Praising the Haat Bazaar Clinic scheme, he said that this initiative of Chhattisgarh government is very good to prevent diseases in the initial stages. Similarly, he also praised the Chief Minister Suposhan Abhiyan. He said that the government is continuously working towards making Chhattisgarh free from malnutrition, malnutrition is being eliminated due to better and effective implementation of schemes at the grassroots level.

Mrs. Gandhi also praised innovative schemes like C-Mart, Godhan Nyay Yojana and new employment opportunities for women in Chhattisgarh. In the exhibition, the schemes being run to give impetus to the rural economy are Godhan Nyay Yojana, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park, C-Mart along with other important schemes like Hummer Lab, Dai-Didi Clinic, Swami Atmanand School, Dhanvantari. Generic medical stores and stalls related to Chhattisgarhia culture and Chhattisgarhia Olympics were set up.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi inaugurated Denex and B.P.O. Also discussed with the women in the stall. The women gave detailed information about the garments produced by Denex. Women working in BPO told that BPO has been prepared in Khursipar at a cost of Rs 10 crore. This has provided employment to a large number of women. It is noteworthy that BPO initiative has been taken to connect the youth with opportunities in the country and the world while staying in their own city. This is creating new employment opportunities for the youth. This is a big initiative especially towards women empowerment.In the stall of Godhan Nyay Yojana, Mrs. Gandhi discussed with the women about the benefits of Gauthan, RIPA and Godhan Nyay Yojana. Women said that new entrepreneurship opportunities have been promoted through RIPA and the activities of small and cottage industries are increasing in rural areas. While the Godhan Nyaya Yojana is promoting animal husbandry, a large number of women are getting employment in the work of making vermicompost from cow dung. Giving detailed information about the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana, Samriddhi Yojana, Poshan Bari and other schemes run by the state government, the women also told about the efforts being made by the government regarding measures to remove malnutrition.Regarding C-Mart, which was started for the sale of goods produced by self-help groups, the women told Mrs. Gandhi that unique products of Chhattisgarh are available here. From organic rice of Dantewada to tea of Jashpur, special products of Chhattisgarh are available here. Mrs. Gandhi expressed happiness over this and said that by marketing the local products in this manner and giving them a good place in the market, economic prosperity is definitely reaching the women. During the inspection of Millet Café, the women told about the different types of dishes prepared from Millet in the café. The women of the group told Mrs. Gandhi that in the Millet Café, a variety of dishes are served along with traditional dishes including nutritious food like Kodo, Kutki, Ragi. These dishes are becoming increasingly popular because they are nutritious. Mrs. Gandhi also visited the stalls of Hummer Lab and Haat Bazaar Clinic. 55 tests are being done free of cost through Hummer Lab. There are many such tests whose facilities are available only in metropolitan cities. This is saving time as well as money. Mrs. Gandhi has praised this initiative of the state government.

Seeing the women performing the traditional Sua dance of Chhattisgarh at Jayanti Stadium, Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi could not stop herself and joined the dance with the women. The enthusiasm of the women increased further with the joy of finding Mrs. Gandhi among them. The women also took selfies with Mrs. Gandhi. It is noteworthy that Sua dance is very popular in Chhattisgarh. Women perform this dance around Diwali by keeping dill in a basket. Through this they share their happiness and joys. Through Sua songs, she expresses her voice and also tells about the society of her time. This dance performed by a group in green clothes like parrots is very attractive.

Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi, who participated in the Mahila Samridhi Sammelan, enthusiastically drove Bumblebee with the women. Women also joined in the joy of seeing Mrs. Gandhi driving the bumblebee. During his address from the main stage, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel mentioned the skill of Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi in running the bumblebee. She said that I thought she would not be able to drive the Bumblebee properly but she drove the Bumblebee very well, I myself was surprised. Hearing this, Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi also responded with a smile.
