Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today participated in the gratitude program organized by the beneficiaries of Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme at Advanced Cardiac Institute Mekahara located in the capital. During this time, the patients and their families benefited from the Chief Minister’s Special Health Assistance Scheme at the institute congratulated Chief Minister Mr. Baghel and expressed their gratitude. It is noteworthy that under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme, financial assistance up to Rs 25 lakh is given. Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Vikas Upadhyay, Chhattisgarh Housing Board Chairman Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, Advisor to the Chief Minister Mr. Ruchir Garg and Dr. Preeti Nagaria, Dr. Smith Srivastava, Dr. Rakesh Gupta etc. were present in the program.

While addressing the gratitude program, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that remarkable work has been done to make Chhattisgarh healthy and happy. Under this, health facilities have been rapidly expanded to the remote forest areas of the state for easy treatment. It is a matter of pride for us that today even the government hospitals of Chhattisgarh have such equipment and facilities which can be compared at the world level. This Advanced Cardiac Institute of Government Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital is also one of these. During this, Chief Minister Shri Baghel assured to soon complete all the necessary facilities including modern equipment for strengthening the Advanced Cardiac Institute Mekahara, Raipur.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that heart diseases are considered among the most serious diseases. The process of treatment of these diseases is also very complex and expensive. Hospitals also often lack essential equipment and resources. We have tried to fulfill these needs through Advanced Cardiac Institute. To ensure that patients do not have to face financial problems in the treatment of heart diseases as well as all other diseases, Dr. Khubchand Baghel Health Assistance Scheme and Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme are being run.

During this, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel informed that 69 lakh families of the state are included in the scope of Dr. Khubchand Baghel Health Assistance Scheme. Till now, claims worth Rs 3643 crore 09 lakh and 36 lakh 43 thousand have been received. Financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh is given under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme. Till some time ago this amount was Rs 20 lakh, but now it has been increased to Rs 25 lakh. Under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme, assistance worth Rs 79 crore 57 lakh has been approved for 02 thousand 643 patients.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also said that Raipur’s Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Hospital are the pride of our Chhattisgarh. The citizens of Chhattisgarh as well as our neighboring states are benefiting from both these institutions. Along with equipping all the departments of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital with state-of-the-art facilities, we have also started the work of expanding its infrastructure. Recently we have performed Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of 07 storey super specialty hospital to make this hospital more advanced. The super specialty hospital to be built here will have 700 beds. Its construction will cost Rs 325 crore.
