Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has paid tribute to freedom fighter late Pandit Vamanrao Lakhe on his birth anniversary on 17th September. The Chief Minister has said that Lakhe ji is known as the father of cooperation in Chhattisgarh. It was due to his efforts that the first cooperative bank was established in Raipur. Today, lakhs of farmers in the state are getting the benefits of his efforts in the field of cooperatives. Lakhe ji continued working throughout his life for the economic stability of farmers and the strengthening of cooperative organizations. Mr. Baghel said that Lakhe ji played an important role in public awareness in Chhattisgarh during the freedom struggle and led many movements. Mr. Baghel said that Lakhe ji’s selfless spirit of service and hardworking personality will always inspire.
