Action is being taken under the instructions of Collector Dr. Bhure, 375 cases registered so far

As per the instructions of Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, continuous action is being taken against illegal mining, quarrying and transportation in the district. For this, a local flying squad has been formed. Also, measures are being taken for effective control on illegal excavation transportation. According to the instructions of the government, now any vehicle carrying minerals continues to engage in the said process, and if caught for the second time also, a case will be filed against it in the civil court under Section 21 (1) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act 1957. Will be recorded. Under the said section, imprisonment up to 5 years or fine up to Rs 5 lakh can be imposed.

Mr. Golghate, Deputy Director of Mineral Department, told that in the financial year 2023-24, a total of 375 cases have been registered from April 23 to August 23. In which 51 cases of illegal mineral exploration and 324 cases of illegal mineral mining are included. Besides this, a penalty of Rs 1 crore eleven lakh forty three thousand six hundred twenty has been collected and deposited under the mineral item.

Deputy Director (Mineral Administration) Raipur Shri Kishore Kumar Golghate has appealed to all mineral related businessmen and transporters to please not do or allow illegal mining or illegal mineral transportation and avoid inconvenience. It is noteworthy that Collector Dr. Bhure has instructed all the Sub-Divisional Officers (Revenue), Tehsildar, Police and Transport Department, Environment Department to continuously investigate and take action against illegal excavation and transportation.
