Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today inaugurated the new office building of Chhattisgarh State Agricultural Marketing (Mandi) Board in Nava Raipur. On this occasion, he announced to name this building after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The office of the Seed Corporation will also function in this building constructed at a cost of Rs 40 crore in Sector 24 of Nava Raipur. Various agriculture related activities will be conducted from this building built in approximately 1 lakh 58 thousand square feet, which will benefit the farmers.

    While addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that the market is being expanded in the state for the convenience of the farmers. About 1 in the state. 25 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is to be purchased. Keeping this in view, paddy collection centers are also being developed as markets. He said that the cultivation of millets is also being continuously encouraged in the state and it is being purchased at support price. As a result of farmer friendly policies in the state, inclination towards farming has increased in Bastar region. Earlier there was almost no vegetable production in Bastar, now the area of ​​vegetable production has increased in Bastar. The Chief Minister said that it has been the government’s continuous effort to ensure that farmers get the right price for their produce. At present the reduction in rice procurement for the central pool by the Central Government is injustice towards the farmers. Now the rule of purchasing paddy through biometric method is being implemented by the Central Government. This is a new way to harass the farmers.

     On this occasion, School Education and Cooperation Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that with the formation of the government in the state, revolutionary changes are continuously taking place in the field of agriculture. The state government will now purchase 20 quintals of paddy from farmers. Last year, Rs 1 lakh 75 thousand crore was given to the farmers for their produce. The economic condition of farmers has strengthened due to the farmer-friendly schemes of the government. In the program, Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu said that new resources are being adopted for the progress of farmers in the agricultural state. With the construction of the new Mandi Bhawan, all the Mandi members of the state will now have ease in their work. He also talked about fulfilling the various demands made by the Mandi Committee members as soon as possible.
