Krishna Kunj: 60 thousand saplings planted in 224 acres of area of ​​169 urban bodies

Chhattisgarh government is developing Krishna Kunj in the urban bodies of the state. In just one year, these Krishna Kunjs have started taking their shape in the form of lush green trees. Under the scheme, about 60 thousand saplings have been planted in 169 urban bodies in the state in about 224 acres of land.
It is worth mentioning that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel had started the ambitious scheme of Krishna Kunj in the entire state last year on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami by planting trees himself in Krishna Kunj located in Telibandha of capital Raipur. On the same day, tree plantation was done in the Krishna Kunj built in the urban bodies of the state with public participation.
    In this regard, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Forest Force Chief Shri V. According to the information received from Srinivasa Rao today, on the occasion of Janmashtami, under the guidance of Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, forest divisions across the state organized programs in the Krishna Kunjs of their respective areas and gave a message of public awareness towards the environment. Under the programme, “Matki Phod” competition was organized by the Forest Division, Bijapur at Krishna Kunj. Along with this, the children and the people present there were informed about the plants of religious and cultural importance planted in Krishna Kunj.

Similarly, children of Swami Atmanand School and Government Secondary School participated enthusiastically in the pot breaking competition organized in Krishna Kunj Balod. Apart from this, various programs related to environmental awareness were also organized in Krishna Kunj in forest divisions like Raigarh, Balodabazar and Pendra etc.
    It is noteworthy that as per the wish of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, work is being done to connect people through tree plantation in Krishna Kunj and to plant trees of cultural and religious importance. Where plantation of trees like sandalwood, rudraksh, banyan, peepal, kadamba etc. which maintain environmental balance and provide abundant oxygen is included. Fruit trees like Mango, Tamarind, Plum, Ganga Tamarind, Jamun, Mulberry, Tendu, Chironji, Pomegranate, Kaitha, Neem, Palash, Bel, Amla are also being planted in Krishna Kunj.
