On the occasion of Teacher’s Day today, Governor Mr. Vishwabhushan Harichandan and Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel presented state level honors to outstanding teachers. On this occasion, Governor Mr. Vishwabhushan Harichandan said that the determination and dedication of our teachers have proved helpful in establishing new dimensions in the field of education in the state of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that teachers have an important role in building the nation and society.

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, a state level teacher honor ceremony was organized at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan. In which Dr. Padumlal Punnalal Bakshi Memorial Award to Ms. Mamta Ahar Headmistress of Raipur District, Dr. Mukutdhar Pandey Memorial Award to Mrs. Madhu Tiwari Headmistress of Kondagaon District, Dr. Baldev Prasad Mishra Memorial Award to Mrs. Rashmi Verma Lecturer of Raigarh District Award and Mrs. Indira Chandravanshi teacher of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district L.B. was honored with the Shri Gajanan Madhav Muktibodh Memorial Award. Similarly, head reader lecturer, high class teacher, teacher, teacher L. B. and assistant teacher L. 48 excellent teachers of B. class were awarded state level award for the year 2022-23.

Addressing this dignified program, Governor Shri Harichandan said that the important job of teachers is not only to impart knowledge to the students but also to inculcate moral values, ability to walk in the right direction and guide them towards prosperity. The teachers present among us, while walking this difficult path, have taught important things about morality and truth not only in the field of education but also in the society. He has innovated to take education towards a new direction. Mr. Harichandan remembered former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan whose birth anniversary is celebrated as Teachers’ Day. Mentioned great educationists like Guru Rabindranath Tagore, Sri Aurobindo who have set exemplary examples for teachers.

 Shri Harichandan said that he told the teachers that your struggle and hard work is priceless. You may have faced difficulties many times, but your loyalty and commitment have helped you overcome all those problems. Your dedication is a source of inspiration for all of us.
The Governor congratulated all the teachers receiving the awards and said that these teachers have contributed towards the prosperity and positive change of Chhattisgarh and we all are proud that our state has such dedicated and inspirational teachers. The Governor said that creativity should be promoted in education and teachers should be empowered to teach through creative teaching methods.

In his address at the programme, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that teachers have an important role in building the nation and society. Our gurus have contributed in bringing us to where we stand today. The success that scientists have achieved in taking India’s Chandrayaan to the Moon also has a major contribution from their gurus. Shri Baghel said that it is most important to create an environment of education from state, district, block to schools. The work done by the state government in the field of education has created an environment of education in the state which is discussed in the entire country. The state government has sanctioned Rs 1,37 crore for the appointment of more than 30 thousand teachers and for the renovation, cleaning and beautification of schools and there will be no shortage of funds for this in future also. Mr. Baghel said that recruitment of a large number of teachers in the state,

School Education Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey also addressed the program. He announced the names of teachers selected for the State Level Teacher Honor Award for the year 2023-24.
The welcome address in the program was given by Dr. Alok Shukla, Principal Secretary, School Education Department.

On this occasion, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Dwarkadhish Yadav, Ms. Shakuntala Sahu, Secretary to the Governor Mr. Amrit Kumar Khalkho, Legal Advisor to the Governor Mr. Rajesh Srivastava, Secretary School Education Mr. S. Bharatidasan, Director School Education Mr. Sunil Kumar Jain, Deputy Secretary to the Governor Mr. Deepak Kumar Agarwal along with other senior officers of School Education Department and teachers, journalists were present.
