Marra’s Agriculture College gets new building, hi-tech nursery and tissue culture lab

The place I have reached today has been contributed by my teachers. The school premises in which we are standing. He is very old. Here Vinoba Bhave had arrived and here he inspired people for Bhoodan. Today is the occasion on which I have come here. It is Teacher’s Day. I also bow down to former President and teacher Dr. Radhakrishnan. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said this today during the inauguration of the newly constructed college of Sant Vinoba Bhave College and Research Center in Marra village of Patan block and on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, honoring retired teachers. Along with this, the high-tech nursery, tissue culture laboratory, implement shed, seed storage house, farmers’ rest house, three manure godowns and two additional rooms of the college were inaugurated in this college. On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, 1500 retired teachers were honored here.
Addressing the function, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that agriculture will improve with the technology of the Agriculture College established in Marra. Modern farming will increase production. 10 thousand Gauthans have been built in the state. In which today 6 thousand Gauthans have become self-reliant. For expansion of primary education, 700 Swami Atmanand English medium schools have been opened. Schools have been renovated under the School Jatan scheme. 30 thousand teachers have been recruited. The Chief Minister said that it is the government’s intention to create a better environment. The government is working to promote self-respect by giving recognition to Chhattisgarh’s culture, lifestyle and food habits. She is working to carry forward the tradition created by her ancestors.
Addressing the program, School Education Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that 30 thousand teachers have been recruited in Chhattisgarh. 23 agriculture colleges have been opened in the state. It is the thinking of the government to bring revolutionary changes in agriculture.
Agriculture Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu said in his address that the entire focus of the government is to promote farmers and agriculture. This college will be helpful in benefiting the farmers of the state along with the area with the advanced technology of agriculture. Educationist Mr. Syed Fazil also addressed the program.
The Chief Minister and other guests visited the exhibitions of the Agriculture Department in the college campus.
The Agricultural College, built at a cost of five crore rupees, has been allotted about 87 acres of land by the Government of Chhattisgarh to Sant Vinoba Bhave Agricultural College and Research Center Marra (Patan), under which a new college building for agricultural education and research, which is equipped with all educational facilities. It is equipped with and is spread over 3730 sqm, the cost of which is approximately Rs 5 crore 25 lakh. Here for agriculture, education and research work, smart class rooms, advanced laboratories, library, sports and NSS, post-matric scholarship etc. facilities are being provided to the students. The college campus is fully connected with Wi-Fi and internet. Agricultural field has been developed in 72 acres for the students to conduct research in the agriculture sector. Where hi-tech nursery has been constructed. The cost of which is approximately Rs 1 crore which is spread over an area of approximately 15 acres. In Hi-Tech Nursery, saplings of various types of fruits, vegetables and flowers are prepared and distributed to the farmers so that the farmers can become economically empowered by using them. Tissue culture laboratory has been constructed at a cost of about Rs 2.50 crore, where banana, sugarcane, bamboo, rose and other plants will be developed through tissue culture and distributed to the farmers. With the help of Chhattisgarh Mandi Board, seed store implement shed and farmers rest house for farmers training have been constructed for about 2.37 crores. 3 compost pits of 200 metric tonne capacity have also been constructed at a cost of Rs 32.93 lakh. Roses and other plants will be developed through tissue culture and distributed to farmers. With the help of Chhattisgarh Mandi Board, seed store implement shed and farmers rest house for farmers training have been constructed for about 2.37 crores. 3 compost pits of 200 metric tonne capacity have also been constructed at a cost of Rs 32.93 lakh.
