Raipur: Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale released ‘Shakti’ booklet

Chhattisgarh’s Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale today released the booklet “Shakti – Comprehensive Sweep Plan to Improve Female Voter Turnout” prepared by the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. This booklet has been published including the sweep activities being organized in all the districts of the state to motivate women voters to vote while ensuring maximum participation in democracy, especially focusing on the felicitation ceremony of the newly married bride. Joint Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Nilesh Kshirsagar and Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Sharda Agarwal were also present during the release of the booklet.  

In this booklet, in view of the Vidhan Sabha General Election-2023, newly married brides who are often deprived of voting, to encourage the process of getting their names added to the voter list or transferring their names from maternal home to in-laws’ polling station, organized in each district. There is special mention of the ceremony. It also contains information about the SVEEP activities organized after the last election to increase the sex ratio in the electoral rolls of the state. The Election Commission of India has highly praised the SVEEP activity of Chhattisgarh’s newly married bride Samman ceremony.
