Raipur, 01 September 2023
The biggest initiative so far in the country to connect youth power with creative work has been taken in the state of Chhattisgarh. The resolution of Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh could not have been fulfilled without the support of youth power. To connect the youth power for the new development of the state, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has formed 13 thousand 242 Rajiv Yuva Mitan Clubs. 3 lakh 32 thousand 242 youth of the state have joined these Mitan clubs to participate in creative work. After this initiative of the Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh has become the first state in the country where youth are engaged in creative work on such a large scale.
The idea of re-building the state through the energy of youth came to the Chief Minister’s mind. The idea was to form Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club. Mitan means friend in Chhattisgarhi. When friends come together and start doing some creative work with enthusiasm, they accomplish great things with their enthusiasm. These have a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 40 members. Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club Scheme was started on 03 February 2022. This is a revolutionary program to connect youth power with creative work. Through this, it is helping in promoting Chhattisgarh’s culture, environment, sports and taking public welfare schemes to the people.
An amount of one lakh rupees is given to these clubs throughout the year and 25 thousand rupees every quarter. Through this the youth can organize their programs and bear the expenses. Can do many creative works. This has created an atmosphere of great enthusiasm.
Till now Rs 132 crore has been given to these youth clubs. Big changes are taking place through these. Take a small example of Rajnandgaon, there is a village named Charbhantha, here the members of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club made a window of information. People are made aware through the window of information. Its member Govind Sahu said that if someone falls seriously ill in the village, we tell them that there is no need to panic. Treatment up to Rs 25 lakh is also available through the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme. We make people aware about cleanliness in drinking water sources. Let’s clean the pond. Take the example of Anjora village of Rajnandgaon itself, The members of the club reached every house of the village and got everyone vaccinated for Covid. Take the example of Chinch village in Raigad district. Here the members of the club started a campaign of extensive tree plantation. The club members used to see whether the children have 100% attendance in the schools, if not, why not, thus ensuring good participation.
Youth clubs in cities are taking active part in cultural activities. Debating clubs have been formed in Bhilai where cultural competitions are held. Many sports complexes have been built here in the last five and a half years. Sports activities are organized here every day and most of the sports activities are done by Rajeev Yuva Mitan Clubs.
