President Smt. Draupadi Murmu today reached Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi Temple located in the historical and religious city Ratanpur. Here he duly offered prayers and wished for the happiness, prosperity and progress of the countrymen. For the first time, the President has visited the temple of Mahamaya Devi at Ratanpur. On this occasion, Maa Mahamaya Devi was royally decorated.
On this occasion, Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and Union Minister of State for Tribal Development Renuka Singh were also present.
It is noteworthy that the historical and religious city Ratanpur has a glorious history. Kalachuri dynasty ruler Ratnadev I made Ratanpur his capital and built Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi temple here. This temple was built in the 11th century. Mother Mahamaya was the family deity of the kings of Kalachuri dynasty of Ratanpur branch. A grand fair is organized here during both the Navratris, where people from every district of the state come and have darshan of Maa Mahamaya and make their wishes before her.
