The popularity of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has further increased. He is second among the most popular Chief Ministers of the country. In the survey, 59.1 percent people have expressed satisfaction over their work. This survey report has been published by India Today recently. The popularity of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has further increased in the survey conducted by India Today Group regarding the work of Chief Ministers from common citizens across the country. 59.1 percent people have expressed confidence in the functioning of his government. In the survey conducted by India Today for the popularity of Chief Ministers in January 2023, 55.7 percent people had expressed satisfaction over the work of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. In the survey conducted in the previous year, 53.3 percent had appreciated the work of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel. 
It is noteworthy that due to various justice schemes run by the Chhattisgarh government, 40 lakh people of the state have come out of multidimensional poverty in five and a half years. The justice schemes of Chhattisgarh government have proved to be very effective in eradicating poverty. In the last five years, the Government of Chhattisgarh, through its justice schemes such as Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomihin Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana, Berojgari Bhatta, Rajiv Mitan Club, has helped the villagers, farmers, cattle herders, women of the state. Direct assistance of Rs.2.5 lakh crore has been given to all categories of beneficiaries including youth, forest produce collectors, due to which there has been a change in the lives of the people and they have become financially prosperous. 
Due to the justice schemes of the Government of Chhattisgarh, per capita income has increased from Rs. 88,793 to Rs. 1,33,898 in five and a half years. The GSDP of Chhattisgarh has increased from Rs.3,27,106 crore to Rs.5,09,043 crore during this period. Due to the policies and justice schemes of the state government, the size of the economy has increased by 56 percent, despite economic activities being suspended due to the Kovid-19 disaster for two consecutive years from March 2020. In the year 2022-23, the growth rate of Chhattisgarh state in agriculture, industrial and service sector has been much higher than the national average. 
Chhattisgarh is an agricultural state. The basis of livelihood of about 74 percent people of the state depends on farming. In the last five and a half years, the Chhattisgarh government has taken crops and implemented schemes for the prosperity of agriculture and the prosperity of the farmers. This has increased the enthusiasm of people towards farming in the state. Chhattisgarh government has set an example in providing fair prices to farmers for their produce. Chhattisgarh is the only state in the country where farmers are getting the highest price for paddy. Along with purchasing paddy at support price, the government is giving input subsidy of Rs 9000 per acre to the farmers producing Kharif crops under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. From the year 2019-20 till now, under this scheme, direct assistance of about Rs 22 thousand crore has been sent to the farmers’ bank accounts.
Chhattisgarh Government’s Suraji Gaon Yojana Narva, Garva, Ghurva, Bari Development Program and Godhan Nyay Yojana have been effective in making the rural economy dynamic and making people economically self-reliant. Due to Narva Development Programme, treatment of about 14 thousand storm drains in the state has helped in water conservation, due to which the ground water level has improved. Irrigation facilities and area under double crops have increased. Livestock has been conserved and promoted through the Garva programme. Animal husbandry has increased the income of the people. Ghurwa and Bari development program has helped in improving organic farming and nutrition levels in the state. 
Chhattisgarh government’s Godhan Nyaya Yojana has created multi-faceted options for employment and self-reliance. Under this scheme, the purchase of cow dung for two rupees per kg and cow urine for four rupees per liter by the government has given the rural cattle rearers a source of additional income. Manufacturing of vermicompost and other materials from cow urine, production of organic insecticides, Brahmastra and Jeevamrit from cow urine, manufacture and sale of natural paint from cow dung have increased the income of the people. Two lakh women of more than 12 thousand self-help groups associated with Gothans have become financially empowered by adopting various sources of income. 
People are also benefited from the Chief Minister Haat Bazaar Clinic Scheme, Dai-Didi Clinic Scheme, Dr. Khubchand Baghel Health Assistance Scheme, Chief Minister Special Health Scheme, Shri Dhanwantri Medical Store Scheme, run by the Government of Chhattisgarh with the aim of making health services better and people-oriented in the state. Got a lot of relief. Chhattisgarh government’s Electricity Bill Half Scheme and the scheme to provide free and subsidized electricity to farmers’ irrigation pumps have provided relief of about Rs 15 thousand crore in electricity bills. 
In order to improve the condition of the forest dwellers in Vananchal, the rate of collection of tendu leaves was increased from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 4000 per standard bag and 67 types of minor forest produce were purchased on support price and due to value addition, it was possible to more than double the income of the collectors. Due to the farmer-friendly policies of the Chhattisgarh government, the number of farmers selling paddy at the support price in the state has increased from 12 lakhs to more than 24 lakhs today. Paddy production has increased from 55 lakh tonnes to more than 107 lakh tonnes. In the last five years, farmers selling paddy in Chhattisgarh and the amount of paddy production has doubled. The area under paddy has increased from 24 lakh 46 thousand hectare to 31 lakh 17 thousand hectare. Primary Agricultural Credit Societies were 1,333, increased to 2,058 today. Fish farming, lac farming and sericulture and beekeeping have also been given the status of agriculture in Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh Millet Mission and Kodo-Kutki, procurement of ragi at support price and input subsidy of Rs 9000 per acre to its producing farmers has increased the income of millet producing farmers in forest areas of the state.
The schemes run by the Chhattisgarh government for the welfare of farmers and the general public have brought tremendous prosperity to large sections of the society, from cities to rural areas, which has increased the popularity of Mr. Baghel. The urban economy has also prospered due to the strong rural economy. Along with this, due to the work done to improve the civic amenities, there is a good environment in the urban areas, the effect of which is visible in the popularity of the Bhupesh government. The biggest thing is that Mr. Baghel continuously talked about Chhattisgarhia identity, this thing has hit home in the hearts of the people. He talks only about the interests of the people in the language of the people, due to which his popularity is increasing tremendously. In India Today’s survey, the Chief Minister of Odisha is at first place, while the Chief Minister of Delhi is at third place in terms of popularity. The Chief Minister of Gujarat is at fourth place, the Chief Minister of Assam is at fifth place.
