ECI asks for strict vigil on transportation of liquor, drugs, cash and freebies to monitor election expenditure

The Chief Election Commissioner of India Mr. Rajeev Kumar and two Election Commissioners Mr. Anoop Chandra Pandey and Mr. Arun Goyal today held a meeting with the Collectors and Superintendents of Police of all the districts of the State, Commissioners of all Divisions and Inspector General of Police Ranges to discuss the preparations for the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly. District wise review. He inquired about the progress of the second special summary revision of voter list currently going on in the state and stressed on making the electoral roll pure and error-free. The commission asked to revise the voter list with utmost seriousness, precision and care. The commission also inquired about the printing and distribution of EPIC cards.
The Election Commission of India directed strict monitoring of the transportation of liquor, drugs, cash and freebies in the state to monitor the election expenditure. He asked to act promptly in such cases without waiting for the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct. In the day-long meeting today, the Commission reviewed the arrangements, availability and storage of EVMs and VVPATs and human resources, vehicles and grievance redressal management in polling stations.
Chief Election Commissioner, Election Commissioner and senior officers of the commission also reviewed the requirement of postal ballot for assembly elections, communication plan, training of officers and employees conducting the elections, law and order situation and SVEEP activities in the meeting. of.
