The Bharatiya Janata Party made several serious allegations against the District Election Commission by holding a press conference at the BJP Office Integrated Complex in Raipur. BJP MP Sunil Soni said that negligence is being done in adding names to the voter list in Raipur and removing wrong names. He has demanded extension of 15 more days for this work.
MP Sunil Soni said that the orders of the Central Election Commission are not being followed in the state. Also, the District Election Officer is not at all serious about the elections. He said that in Chhattisgarh, booth level officers have been given the responsibility to add names to the voter list, but officers at many of these places are sitting on strike. He said that the BJP complained about this to the State Election Commission, then the collectors were asked to find a solution, yet the situation remained the same. He said that the District Election Officers are not at all serious about the serious work like elections, nor have they taken any action till now.
BJP MP Sunil Soni has called it ‘form corruption’. He said that Form No. 6 is for adding names while Form No. 7 is for deleting names. People have to give both these forms free of cost, but booth level officers are sitting only at a few places. They don’t even have any form here. They are sitting there without form. He said that the online system of adding names has also completely failed. Its website is either not working or it is very slow.
BJP will run the campaign
MP Sunil Soni said that the time till August 31 is fixed for this work. We have demanded an extension of 15 days. Due to this, BJP will run a public awareness campaign from 21 August to 31 August 2023.
