Make coordination with local administration for participation in animalless road campaign: Additional Director General of Police (Traffic)

An online/virtual meeting of all the traffic in-charges/supervisory officers of the state under the chairmanship of Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Additional Director General of Police (Traffic) in connection with measures to control road accidents, especially road accidents caused by animals, in various districts of the state today. The review meeting concluded.
In order to control the road accidents caused by animals, in order to control road accidents caused by animals, the Chief Secretary reviewed various departments of the government in the meeting. In case of sighting, the toll free number 1033 and 1100 in other routes and the local administration were informed and coordinated to participate in the animal-free road campaign.
In addition to this, by reviewing the cases of road accident involving animals and death and injuries caused by it, effective initiative with the help of local administration to control such road accidents in future, research with the help of CCTV cameras located near such accident-prone road sections. Action plan for prevention was also directed by the National Highways Authority for necessary statutory cooperation in the discharge of the duties of assistants deployed to remove animals roaming in 51 road sections of the state. Also directed to control road accidents with maximum use and effective enforcement of other available road safety resources including alcometer, speedradar gun, body-worn camera.
Present in the review meeting, Mr. Sanjay Sharma, AIG Traffic, while presenting the comparative details regarding the road accidents that happened in the last 7 months in different districts, for the reduction in road accident mortality, including the wearing of seat-belts and helmets, and other efforts to be made and integrated road accidents. Along with comprehensive training in relation to Database (iRAD) and EDAR (eDAR), as well as updated entry and its proper analysis, prepared an action plan for effective action in accident-prone road sections. In the meeting, information was also given regarding the migration of the joint team of Police and Animal Husbandry Department to Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha respectively to control road accidents caused by animals and measures to prevent accidents in these states.
