Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has written a letter to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. This letter has been written to give 42 percent dearness relief to the pensioners in Chhattisgarh. For this, CM Shivraj Singh has also been requested to direct the officers.
In the letter, Madhya Pradesh’s consent has been sought for the payment of dearness relief under section 49 (6) of the Madhya Pradesh Reorganization Act 2000. So that as soon as consent is given, action can be taken to give 42 percent dearness allowance to the pensioners of Chhattisgarh.
What did CM Baghel write in the letter
The Chief Minister has written in his letter that the Finance Department of Chhattisgarh had written a letter to the Madhya Pradesh government on August 2 to provide dearness relief to the pensioners of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has decided to provide 42 percent dearness relief to retired government officers and employees from July 1, 2023. To fulfill this decision, consent is necessary between the two states for the payment of dearness relief on pension.

The demand for increasing the rate of dearness relief to 42 percent is being made continuously by the pensioner organizations.
