Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the newly constructed building and boys and girls hostel of Kumari Devi Choubey Agriculture College in village Maubhatha of development block Saja of Bemetara district here today. He also unveiled the statue of late Mrs. Kumari Devi Choubey on the occasion. Along with this, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also inaugurated and performed Bhumi Pujan of various development and construction works worth Rs. 157 crore 13 lakh in the district. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel announced to start PG classes of Vegetable Science, Fruit Science in Horticulture College, Saja and conduct PG classes of Entomology and Agronomy in Agriculture. On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Parliamentary Secretary and MLA Mr. Gurudayal Singh Banjare, MLA Bemetara Mr. Ashish Chhabra, Vice Chancellor Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Dr. Girish Chandel were present.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the Krishak Sammelan said that in the last four and a half years many welfare schemes have been implemented for the farmers in Chhattisgarh. Money is reaching the pockets of the farmers through these schemes. Beneficiaries are also getting benefited from loan waiver of farmers to Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Talking about the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, he said that now with the establishment of RIPA in Gauthans, the people of rural areas have got more employment opportunities. Mahatma Gandhi Urban Industrial Park is also being constructed in urban bodies on the lines of RIPA. The material produced in Ripa is being sold in the local market as well as through C-Mart.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that through the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, along with paddy, cash amount has also reached the farmers’ accounts for other food grains, horticulture plantation etc. Kodo Kutki and Ragi are being procured by the government on support price. He said that for the first time 94 thousand quintals of millet crops have been procured in the state. The economic condition of cattle herders and shepherds has also been strengthened by the purchase of cow dung. No one could have imagined that people would be able to improve their economic condition by selling cow dung, but it has become possible in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that the dream seen by our forefathers is being fulfilled today. The schemes of the state government are changing the lives of the people and they are becoming financially strong.  
Agriculture Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has visited all the areas of Chhattisgarh, it is the result of his long experience that today agriculture and horticulture colleges are running according to the environmental conditions of Chhattisgarh. He said that the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel himself is an agriculturist and he has continuously worked for the development of this area, which has brought about a radical change in the agriculture sector.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mr. Choubey said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel is dedicated to the development of farmers. He has put more than one third of the budget amounting to Rs 01 lakh 75 thousand crore in the account of the farmers. This year 107 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured. He said that the Chief Minister does what he says. As a result of this, farmers and citizens are getting the benefits of many schemes in the state. Collector Shri P.S.Elma, Superintendent of Police Mrs. Bhavna Gupta, District Panchayat CEO Mrs. Leena Mandavi, Additional Collector Dr. Anil Bajpai, Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Pankaj Patel, Sub-Divisional Officer (R.) Saja Vishwas Rao Maske and other officers- Employees, public representatives and a large number of villagers were present.
