Fish farmers are being supplied with the best quality fish seeds

Due to the status of agriculture to fish farming by the State Government of Chhattisgarh, the cost of production has come down a lot due to exemption in electricity rate and free water and interest free loan to fish farmers. The income of fish farmers is increasing. Significantly, Chhattisgarh is one of the leading states in the country in fish seed production. Now private sector units are also coming forward in the field of fish research here and the state of Chhattisgarh has also received the Best Inland State award in the field of fisheries.
        Fisheries in the state of Chhattisgarh is moving towards continuous development and progress. From the work of fish seed production to fish production, fish marketing is being done under the welfare schemes run in the state. The state has become self-sufficient in fish seed supply and fifth largest state in India from sixth position in inland fish seed production. In the last five years, the fish seed production of the state has increased from 251 crore to 344 crore standard fry. Fish seed production has increased by 37 percent.
  To make fish self-sufficient in fish seed production, fish seed culture is being done by fish farmers in seasonal ponds under the fish seed promotion program. More than 5 thousand fish farmers have benefited from this scheme. Similarly, in the year 23-24 also 500 Fish seed culture is being done by fish farmers. In the last five and a half years, 23 new circular fish seed hatcheries have been established. Presently a total of 92 fish circular hatcheries are available for fish seed production. Best quality fish seed is being supplied as per the demand of fish farmers of the states West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Goa.
