Honorable Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Shri Ramesh Sinha reached Mahasamund for surprise inspection after hearing the cases of High Court. He inspected all the rooms, parking, gardens, meeting arrangements etc. for advocates and parties in the court premises. He expressed satisfaction over the infrastructure of the court. Expressed concern over the maintenance of the garden not being found proper in the inspection and gave necessary instructions for improvement.
He inquired about the pending cases from the District and Sessions Judge of Mahasamund district Mr. Bhishma Prasad Pandey. It was informed by the District and Sessions Judge that at present a total of 13,997 cases are pending. The Hon’ble Chief Justice also inquired about the pending bail applications. District and Sessions Judge Mahasamund informed that speedy hearing is being done on bail applications. Instructions were given by the Chief Justice to resolve the old cases on priority. It was informed by the District and Sessions Judge, Mahasamund that at present a total of 1200 cases of 138 Negotiable Written Acts are pending. Honorable Chief Justice also directed for speedy disposal of 138 negotiable written acts and such cases in which compromise can be done. The Chief Justice directed that unnecessary adjournments should not be given in the cases.
Honorable Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha also discussed with the advocates in the court premises and listened to their problems. In the surprise inspection, Registrar General Shri Arvind Kumar Verma and Additional Registrar cum PPS Shri M.V.L.N. Subramaniam were also present.
