Raipur, 07 August 2023

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has written a letter to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi informing about the problems being faced by lakhs of citizens of the state due to irregular operation of passenger trains passing through Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has written in the letter that the railways issues a notification for cancellation of a large number of passenger trains at any time without any prior information, and the passengers are not informed about how long the canceled trains will remain cancelled. Apart from the cancellation of passenger trains, the railway passengers are also facing many problems due to excessive delay in running of trains. In the past, I had also drawn attention to the Railway Minister on many occasions for the smooth operation of passenger trains, but no improvement is being reflected in the situation.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has said through his letter to Prime Minister Mr. Modi that due to such unusual operation of trains, many pre-scheduled tasks of students, pilgrims, patients, persons coming to the state for employment, businessmen, laborers and examinees will be completed. Is not possible. Gradually its effect is visible on the economy of the state. Due to the cancellation and delay of trains for a long period, there is anger among the people of the state and due to which the credibility of the government and the railways has started to be questioned.

Mr. Baghel has written in the letter that due to the geographical conditions of the state, the density of trains in Chhattisgarh is much less than the national average and passenger trains are the only accessible mode of transport for people living in remote areas. In any other state of the country, there would probably not be so many disturbances related to the operation of passenger trains. Keeping in view the seriousness of the situation, you are requested to instruct the Ministry of Railways at your level to ensure the smooth operation of the passenger trains of the state so that the problems being faced by the people of the state end and their anger can be pacified. .
