Raipur, 29 May 2020.Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has expressed deep grief over the demise of the first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Ajit Pramod Kumar Jogi. Mr. Jogi died today while undergoing treatment in a private hospital here. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has declared a three-day state mourning on the death of Mr. Jogi from today. The national flag will remain half-tilted during this period and no official ceremonies will be held. The last rites of late Shri Jogi will be held in Gorella tomorrow with full state honors on 30th May.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has said in his condolence message that the death of Mr. Jogi is an irreparable loss to Chhattisgarh. He recalled Shri Jogi’s contribution in the development of the state and said that after the formation of the state, he prepared the rapid development of Chhattisgarh state and played an important role in advancing the state as a skilled politician and administrator. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that after the creation of the state of Chhattisgarh, there was an opportunity to work as a cabinet minister in the government headed by Mr. Jogi. He said that Mr. Jogi laid down the direction to work for the welfare of villages, poor and farmers in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, expressing deep condolences to the family of the late Shri Jogi, praying to God to grant him the strength to bear the hour of this grief and for the peace of the departed soul. It is known that Shri Jogi was admitted to the hospital for treatment from May 9. Former Chief Minister Mr. Ajit Jogi started his career as a professor after completing engineering studies. First IPS He was subsequently selected for the Indian Administrative Service. He was the collector of several districts including Raipur during undivided Madhya Pradesh. Shri Jogi was also an MP, MLA. When Chhattisgarh became a state on November 1, 2000, he became the first Chief Minister of the state.
