First Honorable Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court W. A. Today on the sad demise of Shishok, Honorable Chief Justice of High Court Mr. Ramesh Sinha, Honorable Justices, Additional Advocate General Mr. Raghavendra Pradhan, representative of Chhattisgarh State Legal Council Mr. Prafulla N. India, Deputy Solicitor General Mr. Ramakant Mishra, President of High Court Advocates Association Mr. Abdul Wahab Khan, advocates and Registrar General along with all the officers of the registry were paid heartfelt tributes.
Honorable Chief Justice W. A. Shishack died tragically on August 03, 2023 at the age of 82 in Imphal. He was born on January 01, 1941 in a tribal village in Ukhrul district of Manipur. After graduating in 1963, he did LLB from Delhi University. Started practicing law in 1967 after passing the examination. He was proficient in constitutional and administrative matters. He was working as Senior Government Advocate of the Government of Nagaland and was also the President of the Nagaland Advocates Association.
His first appointment as a judge was in the Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court on January 02, 1989, then on December 04, 2000 he was appointed as the first Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court, Bilaspur and on January 24, 2002 in the Himachal Pradesh High Court. Transferred as Chief Justice. Mr. Shishack has the distinction of being the first judge and chief justice of the Naga tribe community of the country. Justice Mr. Shishok was gentle, simple, patient and rich in talent as well as a prestigious person connected to the land. His special contribution in the judicial field cannot be forgotten.
