Suspended for negligence in the implementation of the Chief Minister’s announcement and found correct in the investigation on the complaint of irregularities in the purchase of the same

The Chief Municipal Officers of two Nagar Panchayats have been suspended today by the Urban Administration Department. Among these, Mr. Ankur Pandey, Chief Executive Officer of Gaurela Nagar Panchayat, has been suspended with immediate effect if found correct in the investigation on the complaint of negligence in the implementation of the Chief Minister’s announcement. Similarly, Mr. Mohan Vishwakarma, the Chief Municipal Officer in-charge of Nagar Panchayat Chandrapur, has been suspended for purchasing table-chairs and LED lights and on the complaint of irregularities in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, found correct in the investigation.
It is worth noting that during the review of departmental work on 20 and 21 April 2023, the Chief Municipal Officer of Nagar Panchayat Pendra has been found responsible for disobeying the instructions given by the government and trying to delay the work. During the period of suspension of these two suspended Chief Municipal Officers, the headquarters of Joint Director Urban Administration and Development Regional Office will remain at Bilaspur. During the suspension period, he will be eligible for subsistence allowance as per rules.
