Bhagwantin Bai is getting a profit of 30 thousand from vegetables in a month

Under the Government of Chhattisgarh, green and fresh vegetables are being easily available to the people through the Poshan Bari scheme operated through the Horticulture Department. Chhattisgarh government is doing the work of saving the village’s heritage Narva Garva Ghuruva and Badi. In this sequence, rural women in Gariaband district are growing green vegetables in their garden by taking advantage of the Poshan Bari scheme. The women are earning good profits by selling fresh vegetables in the local haat market. Mrs. Bhagwantin Bai of village Deori is also among these women. She is earning good profit every month from vegetable production in her yard. She told that earlier she used to do farming in her field in a traditional way. Due to which more earning could not be done. With the idea of cultivating vegetables in his garden, he enrolled his name in the survey being conducted by the Horticulture Department for the development of garden in the village. The department gave him seeds of various vegetables. Tharha vermi compost manure was made available. Bhagwantin Bai, under the guidance of Horticulture Department, planted vegetables in her garden of 0.20 hectare area with her hard work and dedication. He told that due to the good production of vegetables, he is earning 25 to 30 thousand profit per month by selling them in the local haat market. Along with this, he is getting vegetables for the whole year from his garden itself. Along with this, other members of his family have also got employment.
